Everything that you want or is available within 5 minutes from home and you dont have to pay that $30,000-50,000 more to get the same home in many cases. Have lived in the city for 40 plus years and in several location around the city ,central, lamington, between the 2 main centres and in Boulder where i have enjoyed most of my time here. All the problems that you may thing of by living in Boulder are still there and sometimes more abundant in the other areas in the city. You would be surprised if you did yourself a favour and seriously looked at statistics and not just what impressions others give.Here we still say hello to next door and across the road

Having lived in Hopkins St for some 35 years I have seen it grow in residence but feel the block i am in is the pick of the street, that being between Lane and Hamilton streets. This block is nearly all owner occupier homes bar only a couple. Over the last few years there has been a good increase in home renovations from new owners and some long term owners.
Nothing is far away but far enough away not to be a nuisance ie shopping,schools,pubs parks and churches. We rarely have problems we services and have the best water pressure in town i reckon.
Generally speaking it usually a peaceful street where kids will play on the street and verges and people will walk their dogs quite often early morning or evening
35 years here it has to have something so if you are looking for value rather than flash its a good place to live
