This is a good place to live. It is very safe and I have not encountered any problems. There are plenty of parks and the whole neighborhood has a good, clean feel to it. Very good access to Western Highway. There is plenty of gym and fitness options. If you are a 9 to 5 commuter public transport may be a viable option but outside peak hour and on weekends public transport is hopeless. Bus 400 runs every 30 minutes but does not connect well with trains from Sunshine or Deer Park. The service stops around 7pm so you need a lift or catch a taxi. Many Ballarat line trains do not stop at Deer Park.

Traffic is gradually increasing and in the peak time it can take up to 25 minutes to get to Sunshine. This is made worse because of on going roadwork and train line works, which once finished should be great.

Overall this is a good suburb I would be happy to raise a family here.

This is a very convenient place to live with great public transport options. With the extension of train line to Sunbury there is much more trains in the peak time to city. Cost of living is low and houses are relatively affordable. The central area of St. Albans is not very pleasant. There are drug addicts and drunks that hang around near the station. PSO's have cleaned up the station at night but problem remains. I would happily live here as a single man but would not be letting my girlfriend walk at night. Traffic around the railway crossing can be terrible and I tend to avoid driving through there at peak time whenever possible.
