Dalgan St is far from the train track enough not to hear too much noise from goods trains. Although it's close to Warrigal Road, you can barely hear the traffic noise except on a windy day and it's not noisy at all. The location is good for public transport. Bus stops aren't far away. Train station seems far away but it's still in a walking distance if you want to do a bit of exercise. There is a local supermarket nearby. Chadstone, Oakleigh & Clayton shopping centres are within an easy reach. Oakleigh South may not sound as impressive as Oakleigh or Bentleigh East but Dalgan St is pretty much next door to these two suburbs without the higher price tag. I reckon it's a hidden gem.
