Lewisham

"While Away the Hours in this Beach Lovers Paradise"

Lewisham is located 23kms east north east of Hobart. It is a small township yet it is still popular with the overseas tourists ranking 18th amongst all the regions in Tasmania. It is a great place from which to start your exploration of the east coast. It is lacking in regards to local amenities but there is a small shopping centre in Sorell. However, the closest schools are around 30kms away. It is a beautiful place to visit with beautiful beaches. It is the place for someone with plenty of time on their hands.

Rose Bay

"Great Place to Retire"

Rose Bay is located 4 kms north east of Hobart. It is essentially a residential area with no real local shops. There are two shopping centres close by at both Lindisfarne and Rosny Park. It is a picturesque area with views of both the Tasman Bridge and the Derwent River. The only local school is the state high school. But primary schools are only a couple of kms away. It is a lovely area for young families to grow and spend time together alongside their grandparents. Enjoy some fishing. Drop a line into the quiet waters of Rose Bay and you may be surprised to catch a bream. But even if you don't it is a relaxing way to spend an afternoon as you watch the world go by.

Magra

"Home of the First European Woman in Australia"

Magra is loacted 27 kms north west of Hobart on the upper eastern reaches of the Derwent River. It is just north of New Norfolk. It is mainly an agricultural area but there is also a significant tourist interest in the area so there is plenty of accommodation available. The surrounding hills are covered in Lombardy Poplars which gives the area a certain appeal. The grave site of the first white woman to set foot on Australian soil, Betty King, is located not far from Magra.

"Commercial Area of Rosny"

Rosny Park is the more commercial area next to Rosny. It still however, has plenty of parkland and green areas for families to enjoy the great outdoors together. There are many activities to be enjoyed in the area. Shopping, entertainment and active pursuits are all within easy access. It is also a great area for retirees with everything being in close proximity. Being so close to the city property in the area is in great demand.
