Camp Hill

"Camp Hill"

Expensive suburb for what it is totally overrated.

Glad you chose to be honest in your review. Let me present an alternative, and equally dismissive viewpoint.

Great friendly suburb for young families, excellent access to the gateway, trade coast and CBD, plus ready access to the bay for the boat, fishing and straddie/moreton. Lots of public transport options, schools and sporting facilities, and some absolute gems in terms of local restaurants, markets and shops... (and social media is not a replacement for local word of mouth)

May not be the suburb for the investor, but then it's horses for courses as the proverb goes, and if you missed a bargain there is no need to be long in the tooth.

Overrated??? To me, Camp Hill ticks all the boxes! - close to the city, transport is quick and easy, express bus to UQ, Clem Jones - best and most economical fitness facilities in Brisbane, top quality schools close at hand, modern shopping centres easily accessible, close to SouthBank and QPAC (close enough to catch a taxi without it breaking the bank!), spoilt for choice with hospitals - at least three very convenient and easy to get to, breezy with beautiful trees and good solid houses on solid earth underneath. The list goes on, but those are just some of the reasons why CH is so worth buying and living in. And for the investor, I think it's ideal. If you want to buy and can sit it out 5 or 10 years, then Camp Hill will only go from strength to strength. It's a neighbourhood with so much to offer and a suburb where people are dedicated to making their properties immaculate. Which means, the tone of the neighbourhood just gets better and better all the time and the value increases accordingly. Methinks qldinvestr is trying to manipulate a cheap bargain. You get what you pay for, qldinvestr!

I've been investing in Camp Hill for the past 11 years and beleive the suburb has performed really well in a rising market and been a stable investment in a tough market.

Moderately expensive these days, I'd agree with. My parent's house is currently worth 15 times what they paid for it, back in 1988. Camp Hill is verging on inner city.

However, I cannot agree with the statement as a whole. "expensive for what you get."

Camp Hill is a small suburb, but is situated very conveniently between suburbs that DO have all the great facilities. Which I think is good. Camp Hill is not cluttered with these facilities, whilst having very direct and easy access to them.

I couldn't agree with you more! I'm sitting here with my street, yet again parked with over 5 trucks. I have small kids. Not recommended suburb for families.

"Pac Pines"

I love Pac Pines and want to move back there as the place is now a lot bigger and better. Fast internet, take away stores, shopping centres, parks and not to far from central gold coast. Close to everything including easy access to Brisbane.

"Basement Bargains in Benowa"

Bargains to be had in Benowa but be quick because the cheaper ones go quickly. Its has a shopping centre, parks and schools. The royal pines golf course and horse racing course are only a short 3-4 minute drive.
