Dugong Avenue

"Paradise by the sea"

Dugong Avenue is one street back from the sea, at the Point Vernon end of Pialba, in the area's finest new residential development, Ocean Blue Estate.

Less than 2km to shops and services, 100m to the bike track that skirts the bay, slightly elevated and capturing the ever-present afternoon sea breezes, you can see Fraser Island across the bay.
The Ocean Blue Estate has been designed with quality relaxed living in mind, with bushland retained, pathways, and in-ground services. It is still a work-in-progress, but will grow to become one of the best places to live in Hervey Bay.

Hervey Bay itself is wonderful, the gateway to Fraser Island, and the home of whale watching in Australia. It consists of a number of linked seaside villages which offer charm and character in a relaxed and laid-back atmosphere.

Tourists flow through year-round, with backpackers on pilgrimage to see magnificent Fraser Island, and the jet-set travelling in and out through the recently upgraded airport with daily connections to Sydney. Hervery Bay is one of the fastest growing areas in Queensland, but careful development controls ensure that high-rises are curtailed, and facilities such as health care and public amenities are first-rate. Wide Bay (Hervey Bay) offers fantastic fishing, sailing, cruising, and whale-watching without the problems of stingers or hazardous surf.

Dugong Ave is close to seaside amenities, barbeques, playgrounds, and the new Wetside Water Education Park and sports facilities. Point Vernon boat ramp is close by to the north, and the golf course is across the road from the estate.

Unlike other parts of Point Vernon, this side of the peninsula enjoys favourable afternoon breezes which keep mozzies away so these are not a problem, and Dugong Ave is close, but not too close, to the business district and main shopping precinct of Hervey Bay. Dugong Ave is a wonderful street to live in, and will only get better as more quality homes are built and occupied.
