Salerno Close

"Ideal place to raise a family"

Growing up on Salerno Close, I lived there for 18 years. The street has a wonderful atmosphere with friendly neighbours and a closeness felt by alot of its residents. Our home was (and still to this day) is safe and was never once broken into. Being a no through road it is the perfect place to raise a family, children can play on bikes without the fear of racing cars, and that feeling of always having someone there to look out for them.

Salerno close has a path in the middle leading you to the Emu Heights community centre as well as a child care centre. It is within walking distance to the local public school which has a good reputation for being an outstanding school producing outstanding students. Emu Heights contains alot of Parks and recreational areas, it butts up to the base of the blue mountains where is is generally protected from serious storms and hail.

Salerno close is only a short walk to two local service stations as well as a mc donalds and red rooster. As well as a short walking distance to the newly developing industrial area containing many new facilities. It is close enough, yet far away enough to not to be a burdon on a peaceful and quiet lifestyle.

Salerno close is only about a 10 minute drive from the centre of Penrith also, with several shopping centres, malls, local facilities and the gorgeous Nepean River.

I do believe that this is one of the finest streets in the Penrith area, close enough to everything and peaceful enough to enjoy where you live. I would highly recommend this street to anyone considering buying or renting.

Great for

Staples Place

"Peaceful, quiet and a desireable address"

Living their only a short while, I fell in love with the peace and quiet of Sir John Jamison Circuit. The long winding road was ideal for short walks with the peaceful background of trees. Our home faced the leavy tranquility of the national park which brought shade in summer. I always felt safe living here with never having an issue, although I do believe the people whom lived in our property before us had been broken into not long before us.

The only thing I would be weary about would be snakes and scorpians. We found snake skin on our front lawn once, and a scorpian in our lounge room.

But with these things, I would still move back there anyday.

Great for

  • Peaceful and quiet
  • Well looked after houses
  • A feeling of security

Not great for

  • Insects and rodents from the National park across the road

Canberra Street

"Average Sydney suburb"

Canberra street is your average western suburb street, As the years progress though people are becoming less and less friendly with their neighbours so the spirit isnt their like it used to be. Canberra street is about 10 minutes away from the centre of St Marys main street which boasts general stores and take aways, it also has local takeaways on Sydney street all of which are good. Being a long street Canberra street is sometimes used as a race track by some drivers, so be aware when having young children.

All in all it is a good suburb but a bad experience has lead me to believe it can be unsafe after an attempted night time break in midweek. But no other issues other than that, generally felt safe all of the time..
