Kilmory Place

"Quiet peaceful street, not suited to elderly"

We use to live in Kilmory Place. It was a friendly enough street although there was some terrible neighbour who put a threatening notice about our dogs making noises. Considering it wasn't our dog (it was one of our neighbours) I thought it very rude that they didn't first try and find out the cause before putting in a threatening letter. Having said that the neighbours we actually spoke to were fantastic. Very private street and very quiet. Definitely as another reviewer has mentioned there is a very steep hill.
The local shops are pretty expensive and not that extensive. Tended to shop at Hornsby but that certainly wasn't cheap!
Trains were infrequent at the time (2 per hour at peak!) but at least there was a train station (about a 20 min walk).
Chilly in winter! And there is always the danger of bushfires. And wouldn't recommend for elderly or those who find it difficult to climb hills or stairs. I doubt there were many level backyards in the street...

Merriville Road

"Not as busy as it first seems"

A great street for the price. It wasn't so busy when we first moved here in 2006 but has gotten busier as the suburbs have grown.
Handy to Rouse Hill Town Centre (15 minute walk) and just down the road there is the servo with emergency rations. The McDonalds and Ettamogah Pub and Dan Murphy's also makes things pretty handy.
Whilst it's a busy street it's not super busy and the way the houses are laid out we still get a feeling of privacy. Neighbours are great. Too bad about the people who 'visit' Merriville who leave all their litter on our front lawn (discarded McDonald wrappers etc).

What are the apartments like there in terms of safety and noise? I'm looking at purchasing in one of the blocks there close to the shops.
