Yes. I live on the western side. The western side has a primary school but the downside is that it's nearer to the airport, freight train line and roe highway. So you will occasionally hear aircraft, train and traffic noises if you leave your windows open (40-50 decibels). Once you close your windows, it's all quiet. On the western side, i would say the parks are better managed but I think the average plot size is smaller there; more 3 bedroom houses. The crime stats over the past yr from the WA police is fairly good (May 2011-2012) but well, it's a rather small suburb and not fully developed yet so the crime stats might not depict the true scenario for the foreseeable future. Most house burglaries occur in Dec, I guess when most people are on a vacation. However, my neighbour has his broken into twice via the front door during the day when people are not at home. Once he installed the tough aluminium security screens at the front, it has been fine. Sometimes, you'll hear high powered cars driving past along St.John's Road but I would say the suburb is generally quiet and peaceful with friendly people. Police usually make rounds in their mobile at night so that's reassuring. On the plus side, it's strategically located next to Roe, Tonkin and Oorong so you always have the options to avoid traffic congestion. It's 5-10 mins drive to Forrestfield Forum and 10-15mins drive to Carousel/Thornlie.
