Reviews of Whittier Street, Kingsbury
"Quiet, parkland oasis 12 KM from Melbourne CBD and you feel like you're living in the country"
A path opposite the street leads to miles of walking and cycling tracks. In one direction is the Darebin Parklands, and in the other Bundoora Park. A favourite for dog walkers and strollers, the Darebin Creek is just 80 meters away.
With the assistance of Melbourne Water and the Friends of the Darebin Creek the residents have planted over 200 trees along the creek, with a success rate of about 80%. We have cared for and tended the trees over the warmer months, with now visible signs of survival.
The Darebin City Council as part of it East Reservoir Neighbourhood Renewal, has released a draft plan on further improvements in the immediate vicinity. These include more plantings, walking tracks and links to the Reservoir Leisure Centre.
