My recommendation and advice to you looking to buy. Come and buy in the Valley View area of Wyoming. Come and see for your self you will fall in love!!!

I am the happiest person ever since i purchased in Valley View area of Wyoming 8 years ago and have been living in this high end area that is affordable ever since and love every minute of it. All the years living in this area never had any dramas. It is a safe and clean place with Peaceful living, and Safe for Family's with children. Beautiful houses and plants, views.

There is broadband internet in this area with fast internet. Nearest nightlife is about 15 minutes drive to Erina ,Terrigal or The Entrance. There is a local shopping center with Coles, Aldi, Atms and Bottle Shops. Also the newly renovated Grange Hotel a well known and family friendly bistro. Bakers delight, Cafe, and different types of Restaurants, Butcher, Hairdressers, Doctors, Dentist, Chemist, Post Office and many more other stores.

There is also now a Chinese Grocery store that opened recently about a year a go if you are into that type of cooking and food. There is also woolworths and Bi lo nearby if you prefer them
Also a Sara Lee cake Shop. RSL Nearby and Leagues Club with tantalizing foods and also all you can eat. Valley View school One of the top schools here. 10 minutes Drive to Bunnings. Also there are two major Westfield Shopping centres nearby where you can go and shop till you drop. About 15 Minutes to Westfields Tuggerah and Westfields Erina. 10 minutes Drive to the Water with boat ramps. 15 minutes drive to the beach with beautiful beaches and lots of things to do.

Love it!!

I wouldn't argue with a gelato bar! That street is not considered the "bad side" of the suburb, there are actually some very surprising properties in that area! You might be interested in - https://www.realestate.com.au/property-house-nsw-wyoming-117868399

Hi.
Where exactly is the 'bad side'? Does it still exist? Is it likely to get better?
Appreciate your honest opinion.
Cheers

Hi Daniel, thankfully it is ceasing to exist and just patchy like most suburbs. Happy to chat in more detail on 0401 920766 if you like. Madeleine LJH

I lived in the valley area for two years and loved it. Mainly the nice neighbours, clean air and closeness to beaches that aren't overcrowded.

"Great suburb"

It’s drastically changing- it’s a safe suburb even near the housing commission area, which are being sold off little by little.

Also the caravan park that used to a bit dodgy has changed ownership and I haven’t seen any characters at the local coles for years.

The local parks are really good specially Alan Davidson oval.

Neighbours are taking an interest on making their houses look good and some even are renovating them.

It’s centrally located to everything around the coast it has a shopping centre nearby, gp’s, medical facilities and nearby hospitals.

10 mins to the beach, 3 mins to Gosford station, 5 mins to a state forest, 2 mins to a hospital and 3 mins to a soon to be Newcastle University campus in Gosford.

The suburb still carries a stigma from 20-30 years ago, nearby suburbs like lisarow and Springfield are severely unaffordable compared to Wyoming.

The only bad things that I can think of are some younger people doing burnouts every now and then (neighbours are on top of this tho- reporting them straight away) and on main streets you may see 1 or 2 abandoned trolleys which doesn’t help the stigma.

"Wyoming NSW"

We have lived in Wyoming for 30 years in the beautiful Blackbutt street, yes there some bad elements of wyoming, but so does Terrigal. Our street is lovely and quiet, no through traffic so safe for kids and pets, schools are good, my daughter went to Wyoming public, she did really well at this school even though it had a bad reputation at the time, I believe it’s better now. It’s close to everything, being halfway between two major shopping malls, Tuggerah and Erina Fair, 10 min to terrigal beach, train only 5 mins by car at Gosford.

"A nice surprise"

I grew up in Roseville Chase and had lived on the Coast for about 5 years before we started looking to buy. We initially considered Lisarow and Narara without knowing about the Valley View area in Wyoming. We purchased a 4 bedroom among the trees off Chamberlain in Wyoming in late 2019 and we have no regrets at all. The environment is gorgeous and there are none of the traffic issues we had encountered on the peninsula. Close to a great Primary School and the Hospital and trains etc. Capital growth, as everywhere else on the coast, has been obscene. The Valley View area could also do with a good cafe and deli but is otherwise a perfect replica of the upper North Shore so I feel well at home.

"The Valley view side of Wyoming is a lovely place to reside - 5/5"

I bought my house almost 9 years ago on the Valley View side of Wyoming. I love it here. I am a single women living on my own and I have not had any problems with crime. I sleep in summer with my bedroom window open for a breeze and have never had an issue. No break ins in my street ever!! You never see the police on this side of Wyoming, no call outs to the good side of Wyoming. The rainforests and Wyoming river which flow down off the mountain is lovely. Lots of mini waterfalls. Lots of bell birds, Kookaburras, ducks, lizards... The area is nice, quiet and friendly with some outstanding rainforest bush walks i.e. Jane Young Walking track. We are close to the M1 Gosford and Ourimbah exits. 30 mins drive to Hornsby and 55 Mins drive to Chatswood. You can walk, jog or cycle to Gosford shops and waters edge. If you are looking in the area and are from Sydney like I was 9 years ago and don't want to buy on the wrong side, just stick to street names that resemble a person's first or last name. Stay away from street names that resemble a native bush / shrubs, food, citrus or other fruit. These streets are no go zones. If you like to Jog/walk or take your dog for walks and want to be safe doing so then stay on the valley view side of Wyoming. You will pay more for your house but it is worth it. You will notice the valley view area has 99% brick houses as apposed to fibro and cladded houses elsewhere.

"Its pretty good here."

Wyoming gets a bad rap.
If you go to the shopping centre and see the grubby souls from the Caravan Park you might think are in Wilmot or Shalvey or Mt Druitt...............but that doesnt do justice to an up and coming suburb.
Just 5 Mins from the centre of Gosford yet quiet in its own right.
This suburb has some fab restaurants and cafes....seriously good!
It also has a well respected Catholic School.
The fact that the number one Thai Massage shop on the Coast just opened Wyoming Thai Massage says alot about the locals believe in the area.
Get in now while you can because Gosford is about to boom and Wyoming is the closest unpolished diamond.

"Leafy Oasis"

Such a nice suburb. Recently bought here and love it. Lots of nice young families moving into the area, with good schools, shops and cafes close by.
Quiet, friendly suburb, with beautiful rainforests and plenty of bush walks to appreciate them - and a dog friendly park for your furred friends.
Short drive (5min) to Gosford shops and station. Very commutable to Sydney (as I regularly do).
Highly recommend if you are considering buying here!

"Wyoming Beautiful"

Nobody has heard of Wyoming except that it's in the US. However this beautiful place on the Central Coast is nestled in the hills of rain forests, it's valleys, and mergers adjacent to Gosford & Narara. The most beautiful beaches are 15 minutes away and walking adventures are in your back yard. It is close to all the best shopping, medical, educational and commercial services services available on the Central Coast, and is a 50 minute drive to Hornsby; or 60 to Chatswood.

"Loving The Central Coast - Paradise so close to everything"

We bought in North Gosford, and very quickly afterwards upgraded to VALLEY VIEW into a really quiet suburb close to Valley View School as this was highly recommended by the locals. We never looked back, and our kids walked to and from school every day. It is a SAFE suburb with great facilities on your doorstep. Watersports, Sailing, Boogie Boarding, Shopping, Close to the some Fabulous beaches- Terigal - what a fantastic place hidden on the ocast for both corporate and family members alike. only 1 hr from Sydney & Newcastle and THe HUNTER VALLEY, wine region. for anyone llokig to make the sea change at an affordable price - this is definately the place to NOT MISS on your house hunting travels.

"Variable suburb"

This suburb is so varied in its socioeconomic status and people that it is hard to rate the whole suburb. We currently rent in what is affectionately known as "the dark side" and this is for good reason. With alot of alcohl and drug fuelled individuals ruining what is a suburb located within easy reach of shopping, transport, dining options and schools. The minority of residence in the large housing commison off Maidens Brush Road create problems for the majority of immediate area.

"Peaceful"

Moved here from the northern beaches 12 years ago because of affordability. Live in the "valley view" area. Very quiet and leafy, lots of parks and a bush reserves on the eastern side. Close to half a dozen beaches (about 15-20 minutes drive), Close to heaps of shops both at Wyoming, Gosford and a huge complex at Erina which is about 10-15 minutes drive. Medical facilities/centres/public and private hospitals nearby..Gosford rail only 7 minutes by car, or 10 by bus. Really Got it all here and very affordable, never looked back..

"Depends what you are looking for..."

Wyoming is good for family and couples who have their own transport. If you are young/single and rely on public transport then look elsewhere. A lot of Wyoming is quiet and peaceful with lots of vegetation, if you love the bush then this is an ideal spot for you. Getting to Gosford CBD is easy if you have a car with nothing but empty car spots galore, bit of a ghost town really. If you are technologically inclinded look elsewhere, lots of internet black spots. If you are single, look elsewhere this is a place for settling down. There is virtually no night life here, nearest locations for such things would be Erina and Terrigal.

"Lovely & peaceful. Sad that that it still has a 'bad name'"

There are some beautiful streets in Wyoming and being surrounded by so much bush it is so peaceful, and yet still so close to everything. Whether it be the Catholic school, swimming, shopping, dancing, karate etc, everything for the kids to do can be found in Wyoming. However, unfortunatelly it is let down by one of the local public schools, the graffitti, some of the locals and by the fact that it still seems to have retained it's 'bad name'. Originally moving from Sydney we had no idea about the 'dark side' of Wyoming and thought the area was beautiful. Although some parts of it are just gorgeous (and with no noise and traffic, it's perfect), there are some parts which ruin it for the rest of the suburb and are just horrible. Broadband access is also terrible, with some streets still on dial-up only.

Wow ,we just moved up from Melbourne and just love it here. Its very leafy and quiet and just only moments away from Avoca beach, Erina Fair, Terrigal,The Entrance and only an hour from Sydney.

"Peaceful living amongst the trees"

Wyoming has so much to offer and yet is only one hours drive to the most exciting city in the world.

Parks are plenty and a great place to walk your dog. Reserves surround the suburb and plenty of wild life live in harmony with the human residents such as Bush turkey, wallabies and many beautiful varieties of birds.

ALDI and Coles are here in Wyoming as well as other shops in the Wyoming Shopping Centre. Two large medical facilities, dentists and lawyers are available.

One of the top primary schools, Valley View Primary, is located on Chamberlain St, Wyoming.
