"One of the most terrible experiences I've had at a property to date."
I rented a property managed by Anna in 2019-2020 and had what is hands down one of the most terrible experiences I've had at a property to date. Anna, accompanied by the landlord did a full inspection of our property under the guise of coming to look at the kitchen bench, only to issue us a notice for "Breach of Duty" on ridiculous grounds. Anna attempted to bully us, claiming $5000 of damage that either didn't exist or that was clearly not at the fault of myself and my housemates. When trying to resolve the matter Anna took several days to reply between emails, and ignored requests for proof of the claims she had made. Furthermore, Anna ignored requests for repairs on a dangerous, rotting deck at the property. Eventually we were taken to VCAT and when the case was put forth, the VCAT Member immediately dismissed it as it was clear we were not at fault and the claims were ridiculous. At the end of our lease, Anna then put forward those same claims that were dismissed at VCAT and attempted to take it out of our bond. I sincerely hope that in the time between our rental and now, Anna has reflected on our interactions and bettered herself as a property manager. Based on my experience, I'd recommend that if you're looking to maintain good relationship with your tenants, look elsewhere.
