Reviews of Alexandra Avenue, Canterbury

"Brilliant place to live and a great investment"

Alexandra Avenue is simply superb. Its a quiet leafy street, that has a combination of old and new homes, although there is alot of redevelopment going on which is replacing the really old "tear downs" with brand new modern fench and georgian homes. This is great for the value of the homes and makes it an ideal street to live in. Its probably the 2nd best street in the area behind Monomeath and with homes being valued in the 3.5 - 4.5 Million dollar range, its one of hte most expensive as well.

Whilst not many young families are in the street, the people are all very friendly and stop to chat at every chance. Its very safe and given its a wide street for the area, you dont have any issues with the parking of cars.

"Alexandra Avenue - Amazing street, great location, even better investment!"

One of the very best streets in Canterbury, Alexandra Avenue offers high class living, with access to Bourke Road shops, the best schools in Melbourne, and property prices that keep on rising year in year out. If you can afford to buy here, it makes an amazing home, and an ever better investment. Highly recommend!!

"Great Location to live, but beware nosy neighbours"

Great street to live in, its very wide and everyday the values just keep going up. Close to the city, all the best schools in the state and transport is never a problem. Not that many young families(given the proliferation of private schools) and most of the older homes are owned by "old busy bodies" who want to know everything. Night time there are the usual possums and you get a colony of fruit bats flying over in summer, but the street is quiet and peaceful. Just watch out for the neighbours who will complain to the council at any opportunity and over anything from a barking dog, to friends parking in the street, to tradespeaople visiting (but at least the council responds very quickly to complaints). Some redevelopment currently going on where old homes are being demolished and replaced by new homes.

A little bit generous on the StreetEssentials - how can everything be 5/5?

Street Essentials got all 5/5 because :
Transport - both bus and trains are with 250 meters and tram is about 1km away
Medical - we have 4 medical centres within 1-2km of home
Schools - All the best private schools in the state are within a 5km radius
Child Care - There are 3 ABC Child Cares centres within a 10 minute drive
Local Govt - They respond to all complaints (trust me in that I am on the receiving end from painful neghbors)
Power etc - always checked and very rarely go out. When they have, are always fixed within an hour or so.
Parks - Its a green neighborhood. I have 3 parks all within walking distance which is great for my 2 year old daughter.
