"Basically the same suburb as Carlton!"

Not sure why Carlton is 8.4 and Allawah 6.9 as they are basically the same suburb next door to each other!
It’s close to everything. The train station is 25mins to Sydney central, Hurstville Westfield is one stop south, St George Hospital is one stop north and Ramsgate beach is 10 mins drive.
The area is quiet and safe, there are plenty of good schools in the area and lots of restaurants in Kogarah, San Souci and Hurstville.

"How is this rated comparable to Bankstown"

Allawah is a sleeper suburb, unlike neighbouring Carlton (in a sense, the community thrives) and Hurstville with its city centre, but Allawah is a perfectly reasonable place to reside in. I don't comprehend the negativity expressed in some of the reviews. It's merely a stone's throw away from top notch private schools and good range of local schools, as well as the abundance of amenities in Hurstville, while managing to maintain a tranquil and highly preferable environment. The streets may not be rich with greenery, but Lancelot St and surrounds are tree lined, with very nice undercover. It has a decently sized train station, which shows how much of the demographic consists of the working class. Along Railway Pde, there may not be any hotspots like that encountered in Hurstville, but you can get just about adequate from the services offered. The nearest Westfield is just minutes away so I cannot comprehend why you would be imploring for something of better value. Rent prices are not as high as something typical of Burwood or the North Shore.

"Allawah is a great, well located suburb"

Allawah is a lovely suburb. It 's clean and has a safe community feel with tree lined streets and nice-looking unit blocks.

A quick train ride to the city from Allawah train station.

Good shops and a great pub, the Allawah Hotel.

Walk to Hurstville Westfield, short drive to the hospitals and beaches.

Value for money rent and purchase price of units.
