I built my home here in 1985 , would not move , I’ve seen all the changes , it was land every where , no infrastructure , now it is buzzing with life . I love my life here

Lived here for a few months now, and its honestly wonderful. Easy access to Curtis road shopping center, Munno Para shopping center, and a 10 min drive from ECC, nothing bad has happened since we moved here and our neighbors are wonderful people we even visit them every now and then.

I know that the northern suburbs have a horrible reputation but in all honestly they're great, all the people I've seen doing just about anything seem like wonderful people.

Conveniently located close to the Northern Express Way & Edinburgh this fast-growing estate is ideal for families looking for affordable, modern living. Just a minute walk from the Eyre Shopping Village that offers Drakes Foodland, a Doctors Surgery, Cellarbrations, a Hair Dresser and takeaway food options Evergreen Estate is in high demand. Elizabeth City Centre and Munno Para Shopping Centre are only a short drive.

I have been in Andrew farm in The Newer part for 8 year and I have to say don't live here it not as good as you think it is the parking is a nightmare the Playford cancel put in a lot of places where you can't park and if you double park in your driveway you get a fine park up on the nature strip you get a fine yes the back yard are small and you can Here what you next door neighbour is say and every fight. On my street I see house goes up for sale every few years lots of people move in and move out just as fast as they moved in also there is a lot of people who dumped rubbish an abandoned cars and the council wait a few months to move them a few times people have got the tyre slashed had my car broken into and my sub stone someone's set the playground on fire I have drug addicts next door had my dog attacked by another dog lots of people when they move in here have to throw a lot of stuff out because the house don't actually hold that much stuff. The really isn't much playgrounds around you have to go down to Davoren road wetlands if you want a good playground there is only one main bus which is the 451 on President Avenue you can get the 452 to but its a bit of a walk from Riesling crescent the houses are very close together and if you live where there is a add-on house on a corner there is no parking cos they add a white line and two yellow lines and you also get fined if you park close to the white line the Playford council a very money hungry if you pull up in your car in a driveway and your just out side the letterbox even just a little bit of the back of your car they will fine you even if you're sitting in the car. As lots of feral cats here to try to talk to cancel about it and basically tell you to hire a cat trap that's all you can do also if you try to report a barking dog you have to have 7 days journal before they even listen to you and you have to lodge a form along with it. And there's a lot of places that they're building that's actually sinking in there's a bridge on Park way they have patched over a few times talk to the council about it and they say that is structurally fine even though you can see that's not. also some of them two story houses in this area don't actually have a laundry its in the garage and also them stairs in them houses are very steep and actually dangerous I know someone who has fallen down one of them they broke the ankle. you barely see any of your neighbours none of them really come out the front not much community talking not really neighbourly people seem to stick to themselves I have not made any friends here in the 8 years I've lived here kids mostly play on the street so driving after school is a little dangerous when they are riding around on the road and playing cricket and soccer there's also black spots where mobile phone reception isn't as good or not working at all the NBN isn't that good here because we're on the oldest country exchange. the new shop that is here is listed as a country shop so it's more expensive going to Munno Para is cheaper there is a lot of traffic here as well Curtis road is nightmare to drive on driving through when people parked on the street it's a very hard you have to pull over to one side and let one car go because there's not enough room for two my friend call it LEGO City and don't really like coming around when is a lot of cars. The bus company want to get rid of the 451 bus and 452 and if they actually do this then there will be no buses in Andrews farm you can walk to Smithfield or Broadmeadows train station but will take you more than 20 minutes from Andrews farm. There is only 2 fish and chip shops in this area 1 pizza shop most of the other stuff is at Curtis road or Munno Para shopping Centre to walk to the general store from my area takes half an hour till walk to the new tracks from one takes 10 minutes there is 1 alcohol shop in area as well which is at Drakes shopping centre

I like Andrews Farm but would like bus & train infrastructure increased including services, shelters and bins for rubbish.
Last pockets of land are going through urban infill so Curtis Rd, Womma Rd, Andrews Rd need urgent upgrading and extending.
Sad things include lots of dropped rubbish and illegal dumping,
Improper use of house bins and excess rubbish.
Lack of council prosecuting and educating residents on rubbish sorting at the kerb,
Some socio problems still exist
Large dogs barking in small yards
Small blocks
Lack of street parking

Good:
Parks (excellent). Close to shops. Quick access to Northern Expressway. Close to Bunnings (the only hardware store in Playford).

Bad:
Full of middle class bogans (noisy Commodores/Falcons, aggressive drivers and noisy staffy-cross dogs). Curtis Rd bad traffic.

Ugly:
Hickinbotham exclusive suburb (most of your neighbours have the same house, just with different cosmetic treatments - after you first notice, suburb starts looking weird).

Great parks for the kids, bbqs for the big kids. Beautiful walking trails and close to shops, Doctors and sporting clubs.

I love it here. Wouldn't want to live anywhere else.

I was upset to read the last 2 reviews. I suspect it may be disgruntled prospective buyers who couldn't afford to live here. I've lived here for 7 years and love it. Houses are beautifully presented making the streets a joy to walk down. Very quiet, never had an issue with my neighbours. Has a great community feel. With all the surrounding developments the value of my property has increased significantly over the last few years and will continue to. And I genuinely feel my property is worth every cent of that. As for being over priced... the market determines the prices as for every suburb.

It is good for renters bad for families or anyone who wants amenities close by. Streets are narrow, houses are on top of each other Backyards are virtually non existent as are footpaths. Bad layout and design for people who rely on public transport due to the mangle of roads twisting this way and that you have to walk twice as far just because there was no thought put into catering for public transport users, a simple cut through here and there of pathway between houses could cut walking distance and time in half instead you have to follow the streets winding way around. There are no bus shelters or even benches provided. dogs barking and the close proximity to your neighbors make it hard not to know when a domestic is going on near you, it's an inner-city type suburb out in an area where you would expect to have space, light and a high quality of life. Purely designed to cram as many houses in as possible and make as much money as they can selling them.

The Newer part of Andrews Farm is a joke! Most houses are all built on top of one another, House windows are in some cases only an arms length apart. No yards for kids to play & the few small scattered playgrounds/parks here & there in the new area,are a joke. Social problems will esculate - Everyone hearing everyone else's buisness,listening to your neighbours arguements,loud stereos & barking dogs etc etc... Where will the kids play? Not in their own backyards, cause most you could not swing a cat in!. Kids will end up in the street an cause more problems. Some rental properties are not looked after, alot of refugees & some have no idea of community living & congregate in groups.. Yep If you like living on top of one another then this is the place. You also have to listen to Dogs barking 24/7 day & night, thats the norm because Nobody gives a damn. Cars screeching around all hours,. Andrews farm has limited police prescence & grafiti is common.
Bloody gov /developmental planners need to be shot, People should not have to live like this. What has happened to the Aussie dream of a home with a backyard for kids to grow up in? Or Safe communities where people respect each other and their properties? Apart from the fact that house prices are high, the little bit of land that is allocated is not big enough for a typical Aussie backyard. The dream has finally come to an end! Forget having some grass and planting a nice big tree for shade. President Ave closer to Andrews Rd end, looks like little dog boxes all in a row. Some gutters actually touch each other, Forget trying to get to your own gutters to clean them. A fire hazard as well, because if just one of these house catch fire, it would start a chain reaction because they are so close together. Parking is a joke, streets are narrow and with limited land, visitors park on the streets which cause problems when trying to get past parked cars. Daveron Rd is an accident waiting to happen. With the huge park/water way reserve & playground having limited parking areas people park on both sides of the road and making it impossible for one car to get past let alone 2 at the same time. Council should have though a bit about this as it causes major disruptions at times. As far as the nice pavements and green grass (at the moment) this will end up just like the older part of Andrews Farm- unkept grass,trees dying,footpaths non existent & roads full of potholes. Council dont give a dam once the area is established. Newer area is an investers dream- High rental prices and lots of renters all looking for somewhere to live. Good luck

Did you know that you can still buy a freestanding house in Andrews Farm for the low to mid 200's. With most suburbs in Adelaide selling houses for $300,000+ even further out in suburbs such as Gawler I think Andrews Farm is a great buy for the money.

Minimal deposit and cashflow required =)

It is simple, a superb place for your first home, good sized blocks with a brand new home, in a new and developing area. Close to parks and schools and reasonable access to Adelaide CBD via 2 main roads.

Downsides - Low entry prices welcome the odd buyer with untrained pets etc. However, looking past this an excellent first homes within a central northern suburbs location.
