"Paradise for family with kids"

I've been living in the bay for 9 years. small and safe community. many shops in high street(main street). Always you can eat fresh seafood because fishermen sell fish or crabs or lobsters every Saturday. hospital and school is in center of town. Property is not dear. Compared to Melbourne , prices are much cheaper .

"Great Escape - Apollo Bay. "Fabulous location along The Great Ocean Road""

Apollo Bay, WOW! what a great town. Good for an overnight stop OR perfect location for a holiday or to retire.

Accommodation outlets are good. There is a good variety of Motels, Self-Catering Units PLUS many different types of holiday houses / units, Caravans/Cabins plus camping.

I ventured on a 12 Apostles Adventures scenic flight which was absolutely magnificent. Seeing the Coastline from the Air was most exhilarating and the young pilot was so competent. I recommend the 12 Apostles Adventures flight to everyone.

The Restaurants, Cafes, Pubs and shops have great variety to suit all tastes. Prices are reasonable too.

Walking through and around the town is just so appealing because it feels safe and the people are friendly.

Back from the beach front there are no footpaths on the streets however the roads are good to walk on and the traffic is not a concern as drivers are considerate.

I recommend to anyone a visit to Apollo Bay - along the Great Ocean Road for their holiday.

"Nice beach town along The Great Ocean Road"

Apollo Bay is a great beach town located along The Great Ocean Road. This is a nice town that is not as pricey as its Lorne counterpart. However, Apollo Bay is slightly further from Melbourne than Lorne is. Nonetheless, the distance should not matter when you are witness the breath taking view along The Great Ocean Road.

I stayed at the YHA in Apollo Bay a couple of years back. It was new, clean, reasonably priced and eco-friendly. Dubbed a five stars YHA, I have to agree with that rating especially when there is a nice kitchen facility, TV room and a fireplace to warm up the place during the cold winter months.

There are shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants along the main road of Apollo Bay. It feels very safe to walk around the neighbourhood at night and people around here are really friendly too. I would highly recommend Apollo Bay to anyone wanting to spend a night at The Great Ocean Road for their holiday.

Rentals in Apollo Bay

"A safe place for young families by the beach."

Visiting on a drive back from Melbourne we found Apollo Bay to be a great little place to stop. It would be high on the list of places to consider a sea-change.

It had a great playground and a wonderful beach that is perfect for younger children. There were plenty of shops and places to eat and it was easy to get around. The shops were well stcoked and of a good size which can often be a problem in smaller towns but definitely not Apollo Bay. The streets were quiet making it safe to walk around. However, there were few footpaths back off the main strip making pushing a stroller difficult. But given there was little traffic and wide roads this is not a big deal.
