"Very Noisy, and lots of sewer Smells, plenty of snakes."

I used to live in Arbour Street Mernda.

There is constant jackhammering noises comming from the sewer, the council were unable to find it, but they determine that I cant get a rate decrease :( Seems only to bother us at night, prevents the little 3 year old from sleeping.

We have caught (or payed $110.00 each time for a professional) 6 tiger and 1 brown snake in the back yard, the whole area is full of snakes, the snake man says they come for the rats.

Mostly the properties on Arbour street are rentals, so there is plenty of noise, very noticable drug use along the entire street, you will see regular drop offs during the end of the week, for the parties at night.

Opposite is a nice park the council have created, lots of tan bark etc. We find this popular for the younger people to remove rubber from their tyres, these activities usually take place 2am Sat and Sun, you can go and watch, calling the police has no effect, as they usually come 3 hours later to see tyre marks, but no culprits are caught, as they are asleep by the time the police come.

The school isnt finished, the council cannot help with your problems, the amount of trucks that speed up and down Mernda drive, with their tailgates open, dropping rocks and so forth on your car. There is no medical centre as yet, we are told it is comming ( i think 2 years now we have been hearing this).

The fences provided by Stockland, they all sink and wobble, if you have a look you can see how insecure they are, on a windy day you can hear them rattle like crazy, this isnt so bad, unless you have a young child that doesnt like scary bangs and crashes at night.

There is a creek running through Mernda villiages, however, the creek doesnt have flowing water, just stagnant water, it attracts the rodents and frogs (the frogs feed on the mozzies that breed in this water). In turn the frogs and rats attract snakes. Council have asked that we keep our dogs on lead, and children close when we walk, this prevents snake bites.
