Reviews of Arthurs Seat, VIC

"Top of the hill with bay views"

My husband an I in our late 50’s moved here 2 years ago. We are in the middle of one of Melbourne’s biggest winery, brewery tourist regions that sits at 300m above sea level, which is bustling over summer, but the vibe is still very rural amongst the gum trees and the community is amazing and welcoming. Some famous people have holiday homes here and some live here to get out of the limelight. The main shops of Dromana is a 5 minute drive down the windy road of Arthurs Seat, where most people generally swing into one of the lookouts which provides one of the best views of Port Phillip Bay in Victoria. It is surrounded by water, Port Phillip on one side, WesternPort and Bass Strait are all under a 20 minute drive. There is Arthurs Seat gondola nearby, crazy good safe bush walks all around, great mountain bike tracks, some of the best, cleanest, safest swimming beaches and on the other side some great surf beaches. Too many wineries, cafes and restaurants to mention and some awesome farm gates to buy fresh produce. We thought it would be a little retirement village feel but there are more young families and professionals because of the excellent schools nearby and the 1 hour commute to Melbourne City. We love it here!

"Attractive views on the renowned Arthurs Seat"

Arthurs Seat is a $1 million+ suburb and sits at the highest point on the peninsula, taking a protective and linkage vantage point across the district. One of the oldest areas, settled by the Purves family, she’s home to the regions famous chair lift, several wineries, the enchanted maze, pig & whistle hotel and beautiful open gardens. Steeped in historical significance, Arthurs Seat is a day trippers dream. Arthurs Seat Eagle has recently been rebuilt with cutting edge design.

Lifestyle properties are in vouge on the peninsula and this year we’ve seen a healthy number successfully marketed and sold. Arthurs Seat on the Mornington Peninsula saw growth of 49% in 2017 to a median value of $1,091,341. In Arthurs seat properties are also tightly held with 36% of properties being holiday houses which adds to the lack of listings on the market. Arthurs Seat is also a high demand suburb with 2,482 visits per property.
