"For an area of Burwood East, Banbury is a worthy investment."

I moved into Burwood East almost 8 years ago at the age of 12. Now I'm almost 20 so I can tell you pretty much everything about the suburb from the perspective of an adult, and a teenager. The neighbourhood is filled with a community that values its privacy, yet offers a nice atmosphere for those on the social side to walk around and to get to know the neighbours. I have never witnessed a fight or real accident happening in this suburb, but the hoon driving along Sevenoaks road is a bit worrying at times. The real annoyance about Banbury in particular is that it is one of the MOST tested roads used by VICROADS for their Probationary and Adult driving tests and often you can witness attempts for reverse parking and 3 point turns. It is a good idea to try to park as many cars into the driveway to avoid being the target as part of the test for parking in case any accidents occur. Restaurant and Nightlife wise, it's not great as yet, but Burwood-One (upgrade of Kmart Plaza) may change that. Currently nearby are a few take-outs such as Hungry Jacks, Nandos, Johnny Brothers Pizza, and a decent fish and chip shop on the Highbury road shops. Of course, if you happen to have a car, or a likeness for public transport, Forest Hill Shopping Centre, The Glen, and if you can be bothered, even Knox City have all your needs covered. Internet and PayTV access is very very average, there seems to be quite a few problems with the phone line interfering with ADSL, and the chance of being able to find ports quite slim with some companies (TPG in particular). Parks are decent with Highbury Park on one side and Burwood East Reserve on the other, definitely popular spots for walking the dog and taking kids out for a stroll. One thing to keep an eye out on Banbury are the possums, as there seem to be 1-2 of them jumping from house to house at times. Transport out of Burwood East is 5 star. Buses link you to go everywhere, trams take you in and out of the city and the nearby Glen Waverley line settles all your needs. There are a few doctors and such nearby, as well as a kindergarden near the corner of Sevenoaks and Highbury. Cost of living is very affordable.

This suburb is probably one of the few I'd recommend for anyone at any age in their life and with any kind of family, young or old, as there is potential for this suburb to excel in the near future in catering for all your needs, and is quite a drama free suburb.
