"A little piece of tranquility"

We've lived here for 8 years and wouldn't change it. Amazing neighbours, great place to raise a family as it's super safe, access to the train into the city is easy, quick drive to Hornsby or up to the beaches on the Central Coast. Only thing I would change about it would be having a better cafe culture (the cafes here are good, just not enough!), but willing to make that trade-off for everything else it offers.

"Wasn't the best"

Visited Friends/Family and never really saw the appeal to Berowra. It was far from the worst I have seen but the neighbours were noisy and quite rude and when I went, the park smelt like cigarettes. However, it wasn't so busy which was nice and they had quite a few bushwalking tracks. reasonable public transport access.

I'm the opposite to you John. I don't live there but go and visit now and again cause I love the area so much. I don't pay too much attention to the people but the area is very natural with beautiful streets and the shopping centre at Berowra Heights has everything you need. Feels 1000 miles from Syndey, Too far from work though, so I can't move there.

Berowra/ Berowra Heights has a lot to offer. Not sure which park you visited as there are many. As for the neighbours we are surrounded on all sides by the most caring, considerate and community minded neighbours one could ask for. We have terrific bushland trails for walking or riding and vistas at our doorstep. The Hawkesbury and Berowra waters are a short drive for water activities, like boating or canoeing. A good local shopping centre with Coles, butcher, newsagent takeaway shops, 2 cafes, 2 dentists, doctors surgery, optometrist and more Restaurants include Thai, Indian, Chinese, Pizza, and great pub and RSL eating. There is no less than 4 childcare centres and 3 Primary schools, and two community centres and a public library. For most day to day there is no need to leave the suburb. With its own entry and exit to the M1, the city, Northern Beaches, Central cost are less than an hour away and just 15 minutes to Hornsby which includes a Westfield with all that suggests. These times are by car, and the handy train service gives similar times. Accessing easily western and northern lines and point between. The community is strong and can feel like a country town especially when the annual Woodchop Festival returns this year. There are numerous sporting teams, and community organisations to join or assist you. All in all a great place to live or visit.

I've never smelled cigarettes in any of the parks and you are wrong about Berowra being mainly for singles. It's mainly for families.

Shhh, best kept secret in Sydney's suburbs. Close to beaches on the Central Coast, close to fine dining, close to a myriad of outdoor activities. Virtually no crime and nice people with a small country town atmosphere. Since the freeway upgrades, getting to the Sydney CBD or Chatwood only takes about 40 minutes for one and 25 for the other.

"Perfect Suburb"

An extremely friendly community, great place to raise kids. You can walk down the street and everyone will say hi or stop for a quick chat. 4 primary schools in the area, roads aren’t busy, Coles or Aldi are short drive away two great ovals, netball courts, tennis courts, a library, skatepark, community centre, rsl and walking distance to train station. What’s more your northern holiday destinations are super close. I moved here 8 yrs ago and couldn’t imagine a better place to live.

"Great place to live"

With Berowra station for public transport and Hornsby not far away it is a great place to live. Highschools are a bit of an issue but a short train trip will get your kids where they need to go.

People are extremely friendly, streets are clean and very green.

"Affordable North Shore location"

People are generally surprised when they find out that Berowra is quite affordable but also well located.
Consider this. You are 10 mins from Wahrooga but not on the main freeway. The population cant expand due to the bush. Having worked in Ryde,Crows Nest and the western suburbs and being a professional I would often leave Ryde at 6pm and arrive home in 20-25mins. My Children went to public schools and completed degrees at major city Unis. If you wanted private schools you have multiple choices and berowra is on the train line. You can buy very cheap homes and do them up. Dont buy in Berowra if you are a snob because the economic status of us varies from low income to wealthy. We tend to like this. There is a bike track to Hornsby and regular cyclists love the Berowara-Brooklyn-Berowra ride. They are planning a new pool for Hornsby and we have plenty of sporting fields and a skate park that is placed in a visible location. I could choose to live in Turramurra,Wahroonga or Normanhurst but I prefer to live here. Shopping at Hornsby is also close. It's a genuine community in Berowra.

I'm sorry but Berowra is not the north shore.
