Reviews of Brighton, TAS

"Brighton - A great place to raise a family"

Brighton is a friendly, peaceful & quiet place to live. The suburb is perfect for families with children (the Brighton Primary School is one of the best in the state), and is also perfect for retirees seeking a safe quiet place to live.

Brighton is growing rapidly, with lots of new homes being built. Most homes are large modern family homes on generous sized lots, with plenty of room for the kids & pets to run around!

For a quiet growing suburb, Brighton has great facilities, including a great pub, fantastic bakery, Chinese restaurant, Doctors Surgery, Pharmacy, IGA & Newsagency, Post Office, Lolly shop, Hairdressing salons, 3 petrol stations, Repco Tyre & Auto Service Centre, Hardware store, Coffee shop and various other local shops. We also have a great bowls club & football club.

Brighton is only a 5 minute drive to Coles and Woolies, 15 minutes from Glenorchy and an easy 25 minute drive to Hobart (30 minutes in peak hour).

Public transport is adequate for a 9-5 city worker and school kids, but not so great for a shift worker.

Great for

  • Modern homes
  • Big yards
  • Friendly locals
  • Native animals
  • Quiet and safe

"Nice quiet country suburb but close to necessities"

Honeywood is a nice quiet suburb. Just about every house has views of bushland, and many are set in the bush.

All houses are owned privately, so no nasty surprises lay awaiting next door.

I have lived here for 18 years and had no trouble.

It's a nice place to bring up children.

The doctors clinic, Coles, Woolworths, Pharmacy, Servos, Take away, and Schools are all within a 10 minute drive.

Glenorchy is a 20 minute drive and Hobart is 30-40 minutes depending on traffic.

Honeywood lacks in public transport though.

Overall it's a nice place for those who want to get away from it all but still want access to the city and such.

Great for

  • Natural bushland
  • Native animals
  • Quiet and safe

Not great for

  • Lack of public transport
