"Love Living and Working in Bundeena"

Hi. My husband Bruce and I have lived and worked in Bundeena for over 20 years. We moved here in 1997 and have loved the area ever since. We now have 2 teenage kids, who went to school at Bundeena Public School and who now go to Cronulla High School (ferry and bus ride). For nature lovers like us, this area is brilliant. There are numerous beaches and great walking tracks. We have services including doctor, supermarket, chemist, post office, newagency, petrol station, fire and ambulance station, cafes and 2 clubs.

We also are lucky enough to work in the area and run a kayak hire and tour business Bundeena Kayaks from Bonnie Vale beach front that we started up back in 2001. Wow 17 years ago now. www.bundeenakayaks.com.au

Love living here with my family!

Looking for a home in Bundeena?

"A Sight for sore eyes"

Bundeena is full of undiscovered and undisturbed beauty. The little town is surrounded by fantastic beaches as well as coastal walks. Its the perfect place for a young family, with the primary school close to home and such a friendly community. All of your basic needs can be found in Bundeena at either the IGA, the numerous cafe's, the news agency and petrol station.

For more extensive shopping, Cronulla is only twenty minutes via the Bundeena ferry and from here public transport is readily available making it easy to commute from day to day. Or you can enjoy a 25minute drive through the peaceful Royal national park.

A stunning getaway and holiday destination. Its amazing that such a small town has so much to offer!!

"A wonderful place to live!"

I've grown up in Bundeena over the past 20 years. It is a place that I know well and is close to my heart. Surrounded by the Royal National Park and beaches it is a very interesting and picturesque place to live. You're always seeing different wildlife, whether it be kookaburras, lorikeets, wallabies and echidnas, there are always surprises!

We have a large general shop, cafes, post office, doctor, primary school, child care and restaurants. While it's not a massive lot of shops, there is enough for the little things and when you want to do a big shop my family usually head to the Westfield at Miranda which is about a 30 minute drive. People tend to be put off by the drive into the Naitonal Park, but after a while you learn the road and it becomes a relaxing part of the day - it's also a lot faster during the mornings and night, driving to and from work compared to the weekend traffic from visitors - expect it to take you 20 minutes. It's a 45 minute drive to Sydney airport and 1 hour drive into the city. There's also a ferry service that runs from Bundeena wharf to Cronulla wharf, just under the train station. It runs on the hour, every hour, during the day.

As far as security goes, my experience has been that it's very safe. My family has never had a break in and we occasionally leave our house and cars unlocked. Also to point out during bushfires, our town has never lost a house, which I think is due to the excellent Bundeena Fire Service and also the fact that we are surrounded by water making it very easy for the water bombing helicopters to drench and control any fires that pop up. It's handy as the airport is quite close, and yet fortunately in normal circumstances we get very little aircraft noise - I believe the National Park has quite tight restrictions on air traffic.

I highly recommend Bundeena and Maianbar to anyone looking for a sea change! It truly is an undiscovered beauty and a great way to escape the pace of the city... you just might not want to leave once you get used to it.

"So Close, Yet So Far"

Bundeena is a community situated in the Royal National Park south of Sydney. To access it from the city, you need to drive through the winding streets of the park’s bushland, or travel by the quaint little privately owned ferry that runs from Cronulla (just behind the train station). While Bundeena is popular with weekend picnickers, it also boasts a large permanent population, popular with families until the kids reach high school age. With a preschool, primary school, RSL club, several small shops and a petrol station, it caters for the basic needs of residents who do their grocery shopping usually 45 minutes away at Miranda Fair Shopping Centre
