Commute from Burleigh Heads to Loganholme

Hey guys, I have acquired a job offer to work in Loganholme. My boyfriend is a surfer so wants to live no further than 15 mins from a surfing beach. We are looking at Burleigh Heads to live. I have been told traffic is bad on the M1 but also told me, as i will turning off at Loganholme i should be OK for a 40-50min drive? Do you think this is doable? We are from Sydney so we are use to an hour and a half stuck in bad traffic sometimes but i wouldn't want to be driving every day for more than 40mins.
Other suggestions for places to live are greatly appreciated. :)
