"Fabulous"

Burnett heads is a great place to live. Fishing sailing plenty of room to ride bikes and walk especially the bike ride to Bagarra and back with a swim along the way. Local shops and town of Bundaberg not far away. I can highly recommend settling down here and the place only gets better and better each year.

"Bogans Paradise"

If you like listening to ghetto blasters, drum kits and loud cars Burnett Heads is the place for you. It is a bogan's paradise. I forgot to mention that every second house has a shed full of power toys like leaves blowers and chain saws which are cranked up in tandem one after the other. The positive descriptions of Burnett Heads on here our outrageous. They much be written by real estate agents.

Great for

  • Cheap lifestyle as there is nothing here.

Not great for

  • Noisy.

I can't relate to this, at all. Sorry but this sounds like someone trying to lure buyers to their location further south that may be like that.

hendo44444

I live in Burnett Heads so I know what I am talking about. Like someone else said below the small beach clearing at Oaks Beach is full of Mud, the sand is more brown than white, I walk past it everyday. It even worse after a bit of rain as all the mud from the river is brought in by the tides In addition, I can give you the the exact addresses where most of the noise comes from that I hear all the time. Also you don/t need to say sorry if you cant relate to my comments, its not your fault. All the best.

nicelocation

I can't relate to this either. After the worst floods in living memory I should imagine oaks beach would be covered in mud. you should have seen the mud deposited along the beaches around Brisbane. I still believe Burnett Heads is a nice location. If you hate it that much, then leave.

hendo44444

Funny you should mention that. I am leaving later this year and heading south. By the way, what has noisy cars, ghetto blasters and drum kits got to do with the floods. But now that you mention it, what about all the dog attacks and shootings?

Hendo, just saw another negative post of yours popping up. I will step up in defence of NL's comment. You are the one who brought up the mud among other negativity in your post from 4 Jan ^.
NL's response was that you get mud on beaches everywhere - what's wrong with that. You appear to be one of the type of people going through life with a tunnel vision. We lived in Bargara and Burnett Heads and did not notice any of the problems you mention. You get problem neighbours anywhere no matter where you move, including (or especially) in Brisbane. I can tell because we moved four times within Brisbane and went through this. It's good that you are leaving, though but remember problems will not resolved if dragged along to a new place, you need to sort them out before they haunt you forever. All the best of luck for you.

hendo44444

If you read my original post I did not actually raise the issue of the poor excuses for a beach here, I was supporting someone else who raised the issue. This beach is not a concern of mine as I don't swim in septic water. At least you love the place so much you left and I dont blame you. All the best to you too.

nicelocation

if you want bogans, shootings and dog attacks, head to the Gold Coast. I have it on good authority that Burnett Heads has a good future, so I'll stick by my opinion that its a nice location. by your negativity, sounds like you've got some personal issues.

hendo44444

At least my opinion is based on my own observations and experience and don't need to create a third person to provide hearsay evidence to support my views. I also think to start suggesting people have 'personal issues' because they disagree with you suggests you have no facts to support your views and need to resort to personal criticisms. Lets stick to our views on locations and not resort to personal attacks. All the best.

"nice location"

I think burnett heads has good potential for investors and its very reasonably priced. Where else can you buy a house less than a kilometer from the water for a bit over 200 thousand. Its only about 10-15 minutes from bundaberg and it has a pub, marina and shops and overall, a nice location. Over the years, I've seen many seaside towns, once considered dumps, take off and become prized locations. So I think Burnett Heads has all the right ingredients, its just a matter of waiting for better economic times and for developers to recognise the potential of Burnett Heads.

Rentals in Burnett Heads

"Too far for a weekend away"

when there are other areas nearby that are so much nicer. This is definitely not a place to live - more a day out for those living in Bundaberg.

"Burnett Heads"

This gorgeous little seaside village is a holiday everyday. Coming home from work you unwind as soon as you get the first glimpse of the ocean. Only 10 minutes from the heart of town it is very easy to nip in and out as needed. Who wants to live where you work - gorgeous little town with loads of open spaces.

"It's below average."

Hello !! Don't buy a investment property here unless you've been there for a look. Dont buy in low area's and be cautious of buying a lowset and check flood plans and most importantly for here do not forget to do pest and building inspection.
In the past fifty years I have seen Burnett Heads totally underwater numerous times, the only homes that use to be built there were on really high stumps, but besides from the flooding in early years Burnett Heads has changed little and certainly could do with a good tidy up.
Old messy shops and old messy streets and houses and way too far from town. Try swimming at the only swimming beach has muddy sand and the sharp stones hurt your feet.
I can't see growth here because it is isolated and there is nothing to draw the families.
Burnett Heads rates a big ugly yuk !!! and my kids give it a 2 out of 10.

Cannot understand this review. Is the writer a fish as reckons it has seen the town underwater! The report on the beach is rubbish, muddy sand?, the sand is sandy sand, ha ha, you can go down on beach from nov to march and watch the turtles lay eggs and the hatchings come out and make their way to the see, all free of course, the shops, yes there are some old ones but now we have a new shopping complex, a new bridge that links the port and marina to the town. Lots of new houses being built, if youlike it like the gold coast then its not for you, if you like a small unspolit place to live, like to let your kids play safely in the parks and on the beach then its a pretty good place to be.

Tammo

I agre lived there for a while myself and alot of my family have lived there for over 20 years - there are only a few streets that collect water over near Sea Park Road. We hvae never had flooding in the streets near the school - if you like a quiet family lifestyle then this is the place to live

actman

I have lived here for 10 years from Brisbane and gold coast originally. I have never seen flooding we didn't even have flooding when half of Bundaberg was underwater. Beach is gorgeous. Friendly town. Friendly well stocked shops post office pub clubs etc. wonderful place to live.

"It is like Paradise!"

This appears to be the perfect place to live, if you like it quiet and safe, yet only a 15 mins drive from Bundaberg CBD or Bargara. Just next door to Mon Repos Conservation Area (turtles) with a brilliant beach. Burnett Heads itself has Oaks Beach and nice foreshore, along with large parks to the north. You will love living here.

"A GREAT PLACE TO RAISE A FAMILY"

Burnett Heads, get in fast while you can.... prices will rise steadily... it has been tipped as one of the most affordable seaside places in Queensland, well won't be long before this will not be true. Only 15 minutes to the heart of Bundaberg.... Everything on offer except David Jones and Myer but who needs these... If you move to Bundy for lifestyle then you won't be needing those stores... It is all about the outdoors lifestyle, walking, swimming, fishing, enjoying life.... Life... Be in it.... Move to Burnett Heads.... you will love it...

We moved here and some of our friends followed us. It seems there is more and more people that are arriving from Brisbane, Sunshine Coast and even Sydney and Melbourne, which is no wonder with the house prices in those areas. The secret about Burnett Heads must have slipped someone's mouth...

Tammo

I agree. We moved from Brissie and we know others who have too. If you want to grab a bargain place to live near the beach - DO IT NOW!!!!

"Plenty of development happening soon"

Cheaper blocks, new land estates, new industrial and shopping projects planned... would be a good place to invest long-term. bit of a drive into bundy but it's really quiet and close to amazing beaches
