how do the summers in fnq compare to the stinking heat in western sydney?

I'm thinking about moving up to the cairns area, temporarily to start with and want to know what to expect with the weather

Having said that, living in Cairns is awesome. It's such a beautiful place and the people are so friendly. And no winter! I would never go back to Sydney. It's a completely different world up here. SO much better.

mattt6 Thanks for your reply. Did you have a job there before moving? I've read that work is generally pretty scarce up there

I grew up in Sydney and have lived in Cairns for 7 years. I thought I knew what heat and humidity were until I moved up here and realised I didn't have a clue. The heat and humidity in summer are relentless and there are no southerly changes like there are in Sydney. The humidity can be unbearable at times. Trust me, Sydneysiders don't know what humidity is.
