"Peaceful, safe and sounds, convenience to all shopping around"

Living in this suburb for years and realised it is much safe with great neighbour spirit.
Quiet, clean and peaceful.
Not tired with traffic and rush to shopping stores.
There are so many near by shopping like Villawood as 1 minute drive where with Aldi located, Bass Hill, Chester Hill, Faifield and down to Liverpool. All takes around 5-8 minutes to drive only.
2 minutes to drive to hugr big Re-creation, pinic place along the side of Henry Lawson drive from Hume hwy with river. 5 minutes to come to George river bank at Lansvale where you can enjoy boating, fishing, jetski...
Nothing to complain of this Carramar suburbs and great to enjoy and raise the kids.
Great for family and single, retirees as well.
As why I have seen the property market value for Carramar is rasing up time by time.

"Small secret place close to everyplace"

I love carramar because its quite, close to every amendment. very close to Aldi, indoor climbing and bunnings, other important part is make your property immediately $100K more than its worth is walking distance to train station which carramar has it.
I did right decision to buy my house $800K in 2019 and I just did another valuation which came up $950K. its very good return.

When I decided to buy my house in carramar, I did little bit hesitation because its close to fairfield and willawood because of their bad reputation but once I moved here I felt nothing but safety. All my neighbours talkative always say hi once I go out for running. I moved from earlwood seems kind of downgrade but I felt very good here. I am european my neighboors one of them from souteast asia and other one from middle east. so far no problem at all they are very good people.

As long as you are not live on horsley drive you won't hear any noise but bird chirping. Around carramar station few convenience store available including australia post, but station looks outdated needs to be updated. I've seen many shops closed around station hopefully they will be open soon. If you want to use carramar station and work in city, you are looking at an hour travel. but most place outside of inner west you are looking at 1 hour mark to city circle.

I have 100mbts NBN tpg internet and I have seen 94mbts download and 41mbts upload speed at the time I am posting this review even better D/U rate than where I used to live before. My energy power never been cut off since I moved here. Water quality is good. Traffic not much exist unlike neighbooring suburbs. I use 2 big gas bottles (1.6mt one) for gas cooking because my street doesn't have gas. gas bottles are more cheaper than gas anyway and since 1 year I didn't change a bottle. I used electric water system.

School Catchment area is good carramar public is just 5min away from my place and very easy to have access.

"It is OK!"

I tend to mostly agree with the comments of light487.

It is a relatively inexpensive/good value place to live and doesn't have the reputation of Villawood or Fairfield. Carramar itself has low traffic and is out of the way a bit. Having said that, Villawood or Fairfield will probably be your local places to go food shopping. Demographically Carramar has a euro/asian mix with a sizeable middle eastern presence,

Internet speeds are good due to proximity to the exchange. While I never felt unsafe here, I was aware of one successful break in and one attempted break in nearby during my 2 years in Carramar. Hopefully this isn't the normal experience but it certainly isn't 5 stars for safety. Nightlife? Doesn't exist.

If you are travelling by train to the city it is a fairly long trip as there are no express trains.

"Small and Quiet"

Been living in Carramar for over 4 years. The property values have increase dramatically in that time (almost doubled). It's got a lot of trees and grassy areas plus sporting facilities and parks within easy walking distance. While the neighbourly spirit isn't the best, everyone I've met is friendly enough and will say hello with a smile. There are some small shops including a Post Office and Newsagent.

Internet access is great because there is an exchange at the corner of Hume Hwy and Horsely Drive in Carramar. Having said that, you can't see most of Carramar from those big main roads and as there are no through-roads, the traffic is light and very quiet.

All in all, it's a nice place to live and any stigma over it being within the Fairfield area or near to Cabramatta should be left behind because it is neither of those places and separated enough from those places to be its own, small and quiet suburb.

"Quiet and cheap!"

I have lived in Carramar for 18 months and love it. It's quiet, cheap and only an extra 10 or 15 minutes to the city than Bankstown. Fairfield is walking distance and everywhere else is accessible by train. Try buying an apartment for under 200k in Sydney and you'll see why this is a hidden gem!

"loving the family atmosphere! and the location to the shops etc"

recently moved into our place- we love it next door is a park which is always a buzz with kids and families its 2mins from fairfield shops but still quiet enough to be hidden from the hussle and crowds. good public and private schools... great food in fairfield and sizzler on our door step as well as midway between parramatta, bankstown and liverpool as well as cabramatta. its just a great all rounder with realistic prices!
