Centennial Park, NSW 2021

Centennial Parklands is a green oasis in the heart of Sydney. Comprising three urban parks – Centennial Park, Moore Park, and Queens Park, millions of people visit this famous spot every year. It is known as Sydney's playground offering wide open spaces for recreation, learning, and leisure that is rare in Sydney. Before it formed into pristine parkland, it was swampland and scrub. Charles Moore, who became the Park’s first director had a vision for this land. To transform it into parkland. At the time, it was planned to become the town's new water supply. Once those plans changed, it was created into gorgeous parklands. At the opening, Sir Henry Parkes' named it the 'People's Park' and a breath of fresh air. Popular amongst visitors from near and far. Daily joggers, team sports as well as weekend bike riders, family picnics, wildlife enthusiasts, and an abundance of keen nature photographers. Centennial Park is a small residential suburb located on the western fringe of Centennial Park, a large public, urban park in the local government area of the City of Sydney.
Centennial Park is located 4 kilometers (2.5 mi) south-east of the Sydney central business district, in the eastern suburbs of Sydney in the state of New South Wales, Australia.

The suburb of Centennial Park sits on the western fringe of the parkland and features quality houses on large blocks as well as large multi-unit buildings developed in the 1960s to 1980s on Cook Road.

The suburb developed as a result of a decision to sell off land adjacent to the park to raise money for the park development. One hundred and one acres of land were subdivided in 1904.

To ensure high standards of residential development, certain requirements were imposed. No wooden buildings or terrace homes were allowed; brick or stone were mandated, with tile or slate roofs. Between 1905 and 1925, a wide range of substantial, quality homes were built, featuring a mixture of Federation, Arts and Crafts, Victorian and Old English styles. Homes are centered mainly on Martin Road, Robertson Road, Lang Road and Cook Road.

Centennial Park is a worthwhile place to live. It is a little bit of ''country'' in the city and is refreshing. With a moments stroll to Centennial Park , there are ducks to feed, black swans and lots of water birds on the large ponds to enjoy. The large trees are historic and it's a treat to see the horses out for a stroll on the trail that surrounds the park.

Round the corner from Fox Studios, the football and cricket stadiums and moments walk to Oxford you have more than enough to keep you entertained. From a latte to a cosmo you can always find something to occupy yourself in the little slice of fun.

Moore Park is a suburb of Sydney 3 kilometres south-east of the CBD in the local government area of the City of Sydney and part of the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney.

It is bounded on the north by Paddington, the east by Centennial Park, the south by Kensington and to the west by Surry Hills, Redfern and Waterloo. The suburb has no official resident population.

It consists of a number of sporting facilities, old Sydney Showground and the Sydney Girls High School.

The Sydney Girls High School is a rare breed. It is a state school that was created in 1880 to prepare students for higher education. After moving from the first premises on Elizabeth Street the school was moved to their present site which was known as Billygoat Swamp. This was facilitated by the movement of the Sydney Zoo moving to Taronga Park in 1916.

The school has updated and upgraded constantly as needed, sometimes helped a bit by Mother Nature. The hail storm of April 1999 ruined the top floor classrooms and provided an excuse to remodel.

Aside from the school, there is a football ground, a golf course, a cricket ground and tennis facilities. All of these are of a high class and are a special resource for the Sydney public.

No resident population but a large transient one.

Moore Park is bordered by several suburbs of eastern Sydney and had plenty to offer the local or the visitor. The area combines three different parks being Moore Park, Queens Park and Centennial Park. The area has many top sporting venues and there is normally always some sport being played on the many different fields in the park proper such as touch football, netball, cricket etc. Moore Park is also home to Aussie Stadium, the Sydney Cricket Ground and Moore Park Golf Course. Around the area there are many other sporting venues. Once the Royal Sydney Show Ground this large area is now home to Fox Studios and once inside the old sandstone and brick walls it is like a small city with not only the studios but shops, cafes etc. The suburbs around Moore Park offer good accommodation and are close to the city, beaches and entertainment.

Moore Park is located in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney. It is accessible by bus and is only a ten to fifteen minutes’ ride into the city. Moore Park is a good mix of residential units and houses. There are plenty of trees that line the streets. However, Moore Park is more famous for it’s landmarks.

These landmarks include, Fox Studios, Sydney Cricket Ground and Hall of Industries. The Sydney Cricket Ground is home to the Sydney Swans. This sporting venue has seen many cricket and football games played. Fox Studios has plenty of cafes and restaurants for all sorts of different palette and a cinema for those movie buffs. The Hall of Industries is famous for all its fashion sales that happen regularly and bargain hunters around Sydney flock to these sales to grab some absolute bargains.
