Reviews of Chadstone, VIC

"Big suburbs with big shopping."

Chadstone is a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, a 18 km drive south-east of Melbourne's central business district and 14km from the CBD in a direct path. A 20 Min (25-35 Mins in peak hour traffic) drive to the CBD and 40 Min drive to Melb Airport. It has the largest shopping centre in Melbourne (Chadstone Shopping Centre) and is a great suburb to live in with all amenities near by with great public transport links.

"Great suburb for young families!"

We love living in our suburb of Chadstone! As a young family, everything you need and want is at your fingertips. We a close to Chadstone The Fashion capital which means shopping clothes for every member of the family is easy! Groceries and everyday essentials are also readily available! Nice parks for young families as well as beautiful streets for brisk walks.
There's a lot of options for food and many different cuisines to choose from. Also a very inclusive and multicultural suburb!

"Congested full of town houses, however easy freeway access + university and shopping malls"

If you want to live in an area that is central to the CBD and also to the east, then Chadstone is for you however only in certain pockets of Chadstone and not on the main waverly roads or near power lines which long term is damaging to your health. Demographics are changing, lots of new homes being built, including modern town houses. I am seeing more fancy cars and close to universities for students.

"A Shopper's Paradise"

Vibrant Chadstone is home to Australia's largest Shopping Centre with pretty much everything you need. Prestigious for this fashion and entertainment hub offering a wide range of eateries and cinemas. It is only 17km to Melbourne CBD and offers good public transport for efficient and fast travelling. It is a great option for students and professionals with Monash University, Deakin University and Holmesglen TAFE within close proximity. On a more quiet and serene note, Chadstone offers a balanced lifestyle with good parks and reserves including the popular Batesford and Jordan Reserves where families can enjoy barbecues. It also has good access to the well-known Gardiners Creek bike trail. Most suitable for families with kids, singles and professionals.

"Best of both worlds"

I've been living in Chadstone for almost 2 year and we love it! Really is the best of both worlds being a quiet peaceful and friendly area with plenty of parks and open green spaces, but also with all the action at Chadstone shopping centre. Great schools and plenty of good childcare centres all around, also close to Deakin and Monash unis and Holmesglen TAFE. We work in the city which is fine as it's only 5 minute walk to the station and 30 mins on train to the city, or we can be on the Monash freeway in just a couple of minutes.

"Great place for family,"

Nice house with evaporating cooling system, a good way to escape hot weather! Also there is a satellate atenna in the backyard, which can receive 30+ Chinese cannels and many other Asian channels. Close to railway stations, parks and restaurant.

"Easy access to the city and with some great local amenities"

This is a great family area. There are parks close by to let them run wild, and to let dogs run and tire themselves out.
Chadstone shops are around the corner so you should be able to get everything you need and then some without any difficulty.
The area is well serviced by public transport, whisking you into the city quickly and efficiently.
There are some reasonable places to get out and have a meal if you want without having to go far. But don't expect a restaurant or cafe on every street corner.
If you want to get out for a night out you may need to go a bit further afield but there are some good places not too far away. Probably more for families and retirees than young couples or singles.
