"Too many people moving here just for the schools, overcrowded"

You mean the schools are overcrowded? I think you'll find that is happening all over the North Shore, people will rent and fake their address to get into the local schools. The suburb itself has a very low density.

You are right it has had hundreds of apartments built like Chatswood, Lindfield (not) in fact not much has occurred in terms of development except a few battle axe subdivisions since the 1960's. compare it to Epping. Carlingford Parramatta

"A haven in suburban Sydney"

Cheltenham is a leafy suburb in North West Sydney. We moved here as we had 2 medico friends who lived here also.

The suburb has no shops or restaurants but both Beecroft to the north and Epping to the south has plenty and this lack of commerce means misspent youth do not hang around the place with little to do.

The peopel are similarly ambitious for their children's futures and this means all the schools, and there are many, nearby are well supported. It is in both Epping Boys and Cheltenham Girls catchemnet an has easy transport to Kings, Tara, Abbottsleigh, Loretto, Mount St Benedict College and Barker

Public transport is brilliant with a train every 15 minutes to the city and a 34 minute ride there or just 7 minutes to MacQuarie University. Trains also go to Hornsby and Chatswood for shopping.

A drive to the city is less than 20 minutes in non-peak!

All in all I am so glad we left Neutral Bay to come here.

"Best place I've ever lived"

This is a super quiet suburb with bush and wildlife everywhere. The residnets care for their homes and garden and it's safe and convenient, close to city by train and M2 yet it seems as though you are in the country.

Private School quality local schools esp Epping Boys, Cheltenham Girls.
