"Grumpy town"

Really disappointed with the lack of respect and courtesy from people in Clare. I've been a fan in the past and visited many times before. My current visit has shown me a town of grumpy people and service with a smile is unheard of. What has happened? This is my last visit.

"Clare Valley - A great place to work, live and enjoy the food and wine!"

Having grown up in the Clare Valley it is a place close to my heart. I always make sure I get back for the Clare Easter Races as well as the fabulous Christmas parade they put on! Another event to check out is the Spanish Festival that is held every year around April, Clare being the sister city to Almontee in Spain it is a colourful, cultural event and must be seen! They are a very inviting group and love to watch locals attempt to play the castanets as well as dance the flamenco, I have learnt a small amount of Spanish since attending from a young age.

3 Pubs will keep you busy, all walking distance from one another and a huge array of local sporting clubs that are more than welcoming.
Woolworths, Target, Subway and Cheap as Chips have brought a little of the city to the town but still have a well established local shop base. Reliable taxi service and a bus that goes to the city weekly.

"A lovely country retreat with great food and wine"

This sprawling country town is situated 140 km to the north of Adelaide, which is close to a 2 hour drive.

Famous for its wines, and in particular the grape varietal Rieslings, this country town has a huge amount to offer. Surrounded by vineyards and with a number of cellar doors, Clare is firmly on the tourist track. There are lots of restaurants, pubs and B&Bs in the region, which has helped it to develop quite a cosmopolitan lifestyle.

The town itself has a lot to offer, with a number of shops, services and facilities.

The residential areas of this town line the valley walls, with leafy streets, large homes and big gardens. Many houses have a pool, which is quite a necessity given the scorching temperatures in summer.
