Reviews of Clifton, QLD

"Friendly town, excellent facilities and good access to larger towns (Toowoomba/Warwick)"

My partner and I have lived in Clifton for the last three years. We have found it to be an excellent base and accessing Toowoomba and Warwick is quite a quick and pleasant drive (particularly when the crops are in). Brisbane is also very accessible. The town is quiet and we've been blessed with truly lovely neighbours who are not in your face, but certainly look out for you. Similarly, the people in town (and their kids) are polite and helpful.
I have lived in Tasmania and Victoria and must say that the winters here can be bitterly cold which took me a little by surprise.
House prices in Clifton are very affordable and for the most part seem to offer good value for money.

Great for

  • Affordable, friendly, safe town.

Not great for

  • The commuting to work in Toowoomba can seem like a long drive in winter months.

Looking for a home in Clifton?

"clifton could be great but lacks so much for it to get to its full pertetual"

i have lived here for 10 years now and the love - hate out wieghs each other. i moved here to be in clean air for my asmatic son. he had not had an assma for the ten years till the floods. my advice to any one looking to buy in clifton is keep your witts about you as clifton realestate will say anything to make a sale an i have busted them on lies many time ( watch out for the dog with the bold head an a mow to make up for it).. if you thinking bout a short stay in clifton i would recomend the clifton arms hotel has got lovely cabbens and value for money evening meals.there is next to no bus sevice. not that you could rely on if you got a job in warwick or toowoomba for kids leaving high school there is not a lot for them to move onto unless you have a farm or a busness in town. local jobs are few and far between. i do belive if some one came in to town offering a beter bus service clifton could be great. night life mmm pub, pub or pub 3 pubs to choose from. not cost much for bub crawl night lol. shops in town.. butcher, clifton hair salon chemist, news agent, 3 cafes, food store (averagely priced), vet in town twice a week, harware store, post office, basic fabric store with some fashion items, budjet family clothing store, ho an the other realestate that dose not try to rip you off... what do i think would be good in clifton.. computer tec-repairs, bycicle sales an repiar shop, electical store, auto eletrion, most of the shops in town have the attude if you do not want to go to toowoomba you will pay our price... ones that do not and are good value ... butcher, hair salon & bujet family fashion store, you need a kings ransom to do all your food shopping in town, there is a small market comes in to town on thursdays and is hidden behind the irish pub so not many know about it. town swinning pool is ok but could do so much more.. if your looking for counrty careing comunnity, well for us in the floods! we are still struggeling and every one just cares about then selfs, but heck we were not toowoomba so who gives ha, would like to know were the flood appealss are going to because no one tells ya nothing, funny that seens not so long ago clifton was on tv for drout appeal fiar, any how as i have siad clifton could be great if there was a beter bus service for starters and a comunity & tourisum information service centre ( may be good use for old train station) i all ways come up with great ideas for clifton but do not have the funds or the resorses to pull them off pluss good ideas full on deaf ears,, like a good caravan park close to town, closest is springs creek and the old duck there is a bit sitso,, next closest is pulling up at nobby near ruds pub

Great for

  • Clean air
  • Quite
  • Safe for elderly and familys with kids

Not great for

  • Poor bus service
  • Hard to get info of resorses in town
  • Needs more family entertainment

"LizzieB- Lazy Acres"

Hello everyone,
I have always been a city girl, London, New York, Auckland and Brisbane.
We decided to have a Tree Change and have never regretted it for one moment.
Our home is 8km from Clifton . The township has a very good new supermarket with a great range. Also a doctors and a small hospital, library, tennis courts, swim centre, golf club and many more activities.
The area is very safe and peaceful with very friendly and helpful residents.
Clifton is 50min from Toowoomba for great shopping, 5mins to Allora and 45mins
to Warwick with easy driving.
