Reviews of Cockatoo, VIC

"Beautiful Country Area where Locals welcome new Neighbours, a real sense of city/bush abd only 50mins from CBD"

Cockatoo is a beautiful place to live, its bustling strip of shops include the butcher, baker and mini
supermarket and bottle shop plus cafe, hairdressers, post office, bank and well run Milk Bar.

A real sense of community still is evident, which sadly is lacking in the suburbs. Schools include
the excellent local Primary School, as well as numerous options of private schools In Berwick,Pakenham,Belgrave with daily bus services from the high street. The local Kindergarten ( Day Nursery) offers care from 6.30am to 6.30pm so busy mums and dads can get to work.

Puffing Billy is lucky enough to journey through Cockatoo every day, bringing tourist to the region.
Local eateries includes the Ranges Hotel in Gembrook as well Dandenongs Top Indian Restaurant, plus Pine Groove in Upper Beaconsfield, And Elevations in Emerald.

The Belgrave and Pakenham Line are 20 mins away, Beaconsfield Station is the favourite for the growing nunber of commuters who travel into the CBD. Wellington road is an excellent road to
get to the Monash (30mins away) and the airport is just over an hour. Hourly bus services work 7 days a week through to Belgrave- from dawn to late.

Sporting clubs include Senior & Junior Footy, Cricket, Sportscentre for Basketball, Soccer, Little Athletics and NetBall. Tennis Courts and Bowling Club, Brownies, Guides and Scouts and a wonderful local church.

Berwick Cafe - restaurant scene is a matter of 20 mins away and Emerald taxis will get you home safely!

Cockatoo is a safe and peaceful place to live, a sense of tradition as well as sense activity if you want to go looking for it.
