Reviews of Coltain Street, Vermont South
"A Little Tired But Quality Still Strong"
Developed in the early 1970s, Coltain Street now stands where an old fruit orchard once did. Popular with young families in the 70s and 80s particularly, the street is made up of sizeable, quality brick veneer homes, mostly on 1/4 acre blocks. Some front gardens have become a little tired looking and the odd house is in need of a 'freshen up' but all in all Coltain Street remains a quality street in a quality suburb! A mixture of original residents (mostly empty nesters now) and new young families live in the street. Traffic noise is minimal. Closely located to a vast number of community facilities including the Vermont South library, community house and sport stadium as well as Livingstone Primary School, the street is also within walking distance to Vermont South Shopping Centre. Access to public transport has also recently improved with the extension of the Burwood Hwy Tram which runs directly into Melbourne's CBD.
