Reviews of Cook Crescent, Mayfield
"Working class area"
I have lived in Cook Crescent for 4 years. The units I live in are good quality and well priced. The majority of the neighbours are good friendly people but the area suffers from sporadic bursts of crime. Over the last year 5 cars have been burnt out in nearby streets including mine. As there is no off street parking in these units you have to park on the street. My car has been egged twice, broken into and items stolen twice, vandalised (both front windows broken) and finally set alight. In the last few months another resident has had her motor cycle stolen and her unit broken into and her laptop stolen. 2 years ago my unit was broken into and my laptop and other computer equipment stolen.
Most of the time it is quiet and peaceful. The suburb is full of traffic quietners, such as roundabouts and speed humps. There are schools nearby and good public transport.
I decide to leave the area after my car was burnt out. If you do come to live here, make sure you have off street parking.
