The Big Hot

So, we live in Melbourne. And we get about 15 hot days every year. Are we lucky to live in a city that experiences seasonal climatic variation? Or do we expect the same consistency from our weather as from our Big Mac's? I see people getting mad in the heat, still running to and fro. They invariably rush from climate controlled cars to air conditioned offices, shops and schools and then home to worship the box on the roof. Perhaps we should just slow down. Burning more fossil fuels to stay cool is not really a solution - is it? I recognize that there are people who depend on being able to keep cool, but they are a minority. Grab a cool drink and dream of that breeze, the change, it'll only be a few days (for now).

I must say I'm getting sick of this humidity of late - feels like Sydney weather!
