Absolutely love living here with the family. Very friendly people and very peaceful.

Gorgeous location. Lush Australian flora and lots of wildlife. Has amazing walking and riding trails. Not much to do but it's conveniently located (20ish minutes to the city, beach, deeper into the Adelaide Hills). Extremely safe - never locked my doors. It was an absolute pleasure to live here.

Sought after family friendly area with beautiful tree top views, excellent schools, reserves, playgrounds and sporting facilities.
Grab a bite and coffee from the very popular Bake Bakery on the Main Road or enjoy a catch up at The Duck Inn.
Homes in the area, attract a wide range of potential purchasers, from first home buyers, families to retirees, ranging from $600,000 - $1,500,000.

Strong community, historical, lots of trees, gorgeous river walks, great pizza and coffee. Friendly local butcher. Lots of families and retired couples, Dog walking, parks and playgrounds. Lovely active community centre.

Friendly atmosphere. Highly reccomend Blackwood gym. Short drive to Marion Shopping Centre. Public transport is okay seemed to be getting better as i moved away from the area. A lot of beautiful pubs for dinner. The Duck is a beautiful pub with an open fire in the winter. Short bus trip or drive to Flinder Uni and the hospital.

Nice leafy area with access to pretty much everything required. Good parks and sporting facilities, very low crime and lovely people. Great spot to live.

Coromandel Valley is situated in the Adelaide Hills about eighteen kilometres from the Capital City.

Coromandel Valley and its neighbouring suburb, Coromandel East are named after the 662 tons, three-masted, ship Coromandel which arrived in Holdfast Bay from London in 1837 and was captained by William Chesser. She arrived via Kangaroo Island with 156 passengers.
After the ship reached the shore, some of its sailors deserted, intending to remain behind in South Australia, and took refuge in the hills in the Coromandel Valley region.
Other early arrivals at Coromandel Valley were Thomas Matthews, James Ackland, Alexander Murray, the Winn family and Thomas Turner.

The Coromandel Valley Primary School, established in 1877, is one of the oldest in South Australia. Adjacent to the school is the original St John's Anglican Church, built with local stone.

This suburb was named after the ship "Coromandel" which visited South Australia in the 18th century. Some of the crew liked the place so much they didn't want to leave so they jumped ship, headed inland and hid in what is now Coromandel Valley. Not as well known as other Adelaide Hills suburbs, Coro Valley is just a couple of kms south-east of Blackwood. Excellent primary school, vet, butcher, tavern (The Duck Inn which has meals and live entertainment), small shopping centre etc. Public transport is pretty woeful. Plenty of wildlife around including koalas, kangaroos, possums,kookaburras and other birdlife. Blocks of land are pretty large and houses range in type and size. Plenty of parks, great cricket oval and community centre and a great linear walk/bike path that takes you along Minno Creek all the way in to Blackwood.
