Reviews of Craigburn Farm, SA

"Well planned suburb with nature on your doorstep."

Such a fantastic suburb to live. New parks for kids. Kangaroos, koalas and beautiful birds frequent the suburb. A lifestyle suburb where 15 minutes east sits Stirling whilst 15 minutes west is Brighton Beach.
Premium houses, large blocks and friendly, happy neighbours. Gotta love it!

"Hideaway but still so close"

We are big city people having moved from the Hills District of Sydney 12 months ago and we absolutely adore living in Craigburn Farm. It is fantastic for our family - we have a spacious house, we are surrounded by green space (we don't feel like we are enclosed like other residential suburbs), there are plenty of outdoor recreational activities like walking or cycling, we are surrounded by wildlife (we have koalas and kangaroos and loads of bird life), it is 25 mins to the CBD, 25 mins to Harndorf, 15 mins to the beach. The local government school is really good; there are loads of shopping choices in Blackwood but we are only 15mins to Marion and 10 mins to Mitcham. Kids have choice of local activities - tennis, footy, dancing, teakwondo, music school, gymnastics. We don't have trouble parking; the council has been great with maintaining parklands and roads. Great fitness centre in Blackwood. Good choice of cafes (we don't get takeaway often so can't comment on this aspect). All in all we have found a gem of a suburb.

"Village life doesn’t get much better than this!"

Blackwood Park in Craigburn Farm is a great place to live! Property prices are healthy, there is plenty on investent in local facilities which is alwaysa good sign of a popular suberb. A new library and comunity centre, improvements to shopping and parking. There are plent of fantastic countryside walks, we are discovering new ones even after living here for eight years! Great community, people are so friendly here! Shopping is good, plenty of cafes and restaurants and vibrant village buzz. Loads of play areas for the kids (and adults). Schools are realy good with a choice of state and private primary and high school. Great road links in all directiosn and commuting into the city is a breeze either by car or by public realy good transport links. In short, this is a lovely place to live..Enjoy

"Nature, quality without the rat race"

Quality housing in a green suburb near everything. 15 minutes to the beach, 20 mins or less to the city and wonderful train rides through the hills. The estate has been tastefully built with lots of green spaces between the houses. The walks are suberb with the sturt gorge on your doorstep. Great for bike rides being especially safe and away from cars on the fire tracks, riding your horse or walking the dog. All with out having to get in the car. The views are great due to the rolling hills and there are always plenty of koalas and Roos to see. Excuse me had to take a break 50 or more cockatoos just flew over. Bliss escape the city, but still near enough for a good night out.

Not great for

  • Have to get a car to go to shops.
  • So many birds so sometimes poop on your pavers
  • Expensive for a suburb, but worth every Dollar

"God's own country"

A great place, only half an hour from the city, this is a fantastic place to bring up your family. Koalas at your doorstep, kookaburras, rosellas, abundant wild life. A relaxing place to live, not far from Blackwood. As well as lifestyle, property investment has good returns for the astute home owner! Greats schools nearby, enjoy the fresh air and fantastic views!

"Couldn't think of a better place to live"

I have lived here for a total of 8 years (between two different houses). If I ever leave I will be sad to go as I could not think of a better place to live.

The area is perfect for going for walks and even photography.

The local shops are a 30 minute walk away, so this creates a good opportunity to go out for a meal and keep fit too. There are a number of great restaurants and cafes, as well as newsagents, supermarkets, a fruit and vegetable shop, a book shop, music shop, shoe shop, and much more. There is also good public transport so it's easy to get to the city or Westfield Marion Shopping Centre, by bus or train.

Craigburn Farm is great for any kind of resident, but probably best for families with kids (though there are also a number of retirees and young couples in the area). It's safe to go out at night or alone and there is lots of space. I'd say it's the ideal place to live.

"A bit overpriced for what it is"

If your idea of the perfect suburb is being in the middle of it all, being able to take a walk to your local cafe for breakfast on Sunday morning and then do a spot of window shopping then this isn't for you. If you like leafy and quiet then this is perfect.

Zoes comments are spot on. However her rating is grossly incorrect because it is entirely innapropriate. She obviously desires a city lifestyle like Paris or Norwood etc where you sleep in a small apartment and live in the cafes, restaraunts, bars and public spaces.
A below average rating should only be awarded where the suburb in question has negative facets associated with it such as crime etc not because it lacks your desired positive attributes. Her rating should have been 3 star minimum.

I agree with Boonge72.

"A great place for All"

If you are after new housing in a quality estate close to the train network major shopping resturants Adelaides beaches yet with a hills village atnosphere then this is the place for you.The houses range from palatial down to courtyard so the appeal is for all ages . There is really now only two quality estates left in Souther Area Craigburn Farm and Flagstaff Pines, Craigburn Farm has better ambience nice rolling hills trees whereas Flagstaff Pines very noisey due to being surronded by three major Arterial Roads. Craigburn Farm Rocks
