"Country Town with a lot."

Cygnet is a beautiful town in the Huon Valley. (population 1556 in 2016 census). Cygnet has a busy Main Street with two pubs, three bottle shops, one RSL club, two petrol stations, Bendigo Bank, ComBank ATM, Catholic and Anglican churches, five cafe/restaurants, a hardware store, three doctor's clinics, a couple of backpackers hostels, a bookshop, newsagent, two hairdressing salons, two butchers, take away food shop, a good sized IGA, an organic grocer and various other clothing and special interest stores including a local cider makers bar and cellar door nearby. There are also several art studios and numerous artisans and makers who take part in an Art Trail at Easter and the Cygnet Folk Festival is an annual attraction. Cygnet has a busy small market fortnightly (restarting Sept 2020). 50 minutes south of Hobart, 20 minutes from Huonville (Woolies, Council, Banks, Mitre 10 etc etc) and 40 minutes from Kingston (suburb 10 mins from Hobart with all the other shopping options). Great for young families, although older children might lack activities. Popular with retirees, alternatives and people who love the country with the conveniences nearby. Farming community with many orchards, aquaculture and numerous small holdings It’s generally a friendly town where new locals are welcome and accepted. Cygnet is a popular day trip for visitors.

"Great place to live"

Located roughly 45 minutes to Hobart this little town has the peaceful country beauty but also the hustle and bustle of town not far away, it has most of the amenities you will need, doctors, chemist, 2 schools (1 private and 1 public).

Another bonus is that there are some great little beaches which are within a 15 minute drive from the town centre, quite often when you go you will have these beaches to yourself or very few people. It's also a very safe area, you very rarely hear of any hooligans around the street which is very rare in todays society. All in all a great place for the family.
