"Lovely"

I have seen a couple of negative reviews about Daylesford, and I agree not everyone has the same experiences but I find the people very friendly and helpful, more so then in Melbourne, beautiful ,little bohemian town.

"I should give it a miss"

I have been visiting Daylesford multiple times a year for some twenty years now. I am currently staying in the township with my partner and young son. Today a ‘local’ passed us whilst we were shopping and muttered ‘go back to Melbourne’ this we ignored only to find ourselves followed by the said ‘local’ who then approached us with a tirade around why we should ‘ go back to where we came from ‘ that being one and a half hours away in Melbourne. Well he must be congratulated as his aim was achieved we will not return, perhaps in rural NSW the rednecks are thinner in the ground.

"Picturesque spa country"

Daylesford is a beautiful place to visit, and I'm jealous of those who get to live there! It's a great place for a weekend away, just a short trip from Melbourne but you couldn't feel further away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

There are so many options for massages and other spa treatments, and just as many great places to eat whether you're after a trendy brunch and coffee, or something fancier. The Wombat Hill botanic gardens and Lake Daylesford are perfect places for a relaxing walk and a picnic.

"A picturesque historic village"

Only 90 mins drive from Melbourne, Daylesford is the perfect destination for a day trip or slow-paced lifestyle. There are loads of day spas, BNBs, galleries, cafes, markets, boutiques, historic buildings, and antique shops throughout the area. I recommend Larder cafe on the main street for a killer brunch and great coffee, followed by shopping up Vincent Street.

For fine dining, set on 125 acres with stunning gardens Sault restaurant will not disappoint. They're currently doing takeaway orders and delivery to Melbourne during COVID-19 restrictions https://www.sault.com.au/

Check out Daylesford Lake or the Botanic Gardens to take in the lush leafy scenery.

Home to loads of charming Victorian cottages and weatherboard houses, this area is perfect for anyone looking to make a tree change or to buy a country holiday home with great Airbnb potential.

There's a reason Melbournians flock to Daylesford for weddings and R&R, it is absolutely beautiful and so conveniently located!

"Great weekend getaway"

There is a relaxed way of living in Daylesford. It's very popular for Melburnians looking to escape the city for a weekend and dozens of people linger over a coffee at the numerous cafes in this trendy town. If you like to keep active, go for a walk around Lake Daylesford or if you love vintage items, the Mill Market is well worth a look. There are plenty of places to stay and lots of eateries from a good hearty pub meal to the upmarket Lake House which has won dozens of awards for its fine fare. If you haven't discovered Daylesford, you are missing out.
