Reviews of Dover Heights, NSW

"Dux Nuts"

Dover Heights really is the dux nuts of the eastern suburbs. The area is very high in demand and prices are way in the millions. Great place to live if you have the money close to the best beaches in the world and Sydney CBD.

"Rose Bay North is no fun but you can sleep at night."

Rose bay North is peaceful. You can do some lovely walks along the coast line/ down to bondi/ to Watsons bay. The location itself can be rather desserted, and can be frustrating in the way of public transport. The restaurants/take out food is of a pretty poor standard, and expensive. Traffic on New South Head & Old South head can be very slow.

People who drive around Rose Bay North can be very hostile and rude, like their time is worth more than yours because their car is worth 100K, so be careful of those people stopping abruptly infront of you to take a reverse park on the main RD!!!

I think the most frustrating thing about Rose Bay North is that there is nowhere in walking distance to go have a few beverages and relax on the weekend. If this does not concern you and you can put up with the public transport, then it is a good place to live..

"Dover Heights with the spectacular views"

Dover Heights is a suburb of Sydney, 9 kilometres east of the CBD, in the local government area of Waverley Council and part of the Eastern Suburbs. It is bounded on the north by Vaucluse, on the east by the Pacific Ocean, on the south by North Bondi and by Rose Bay on the east. It has a population of about 3,800, 23% of whom are under 18 and 17% of whom are over 60.

It is a very affluent suburb with house prices averaging $2,500,000. It offers commanding views of both the harbour and the ocean.

The suburb was so named as the cliffs reminded early settlers of the White Cliffs of Dover in England.

Nearly half the population of the suburb is Jewish. The people of this faith are well catered for with the Dover Heights Shule (a synagogue) and two Jewish schools. These are the Kesser Torah College and the Yeshiva Ladies College. Other children need to travel to neighbouring suburbs for school.

There is no beach at Dover Heights but there are parks and reserves on the cliff top offering fabulous views. Many flock there during fireworks displays to get a good view of the action.

Dover Heights would be magnificent place to live if you could afford it.

Rentals in Dover Heights

"Dover Heights - Expenisve to buy but well worth the cost."

Dover Heights is about 9 kms from the Sydney CBD. Situated in the Eastern Suburbs Dover Heights has stunning views of the harbour or the ocean depending where you are situated. Basically a residential area there are a predominately a large number of good sized houses as well as some blocks of units. The prices to buy in this area are quite high and rental prices are rare and expensive when available. Dover Heights has several shops and is only 5 mins from Bondi in one direction and Rose Bay North in another. The Dudley Page Reserve offers the visitor some stunning views of Sydney Harbour but is also frequented by locals on occasions when fireworks are used on Sydney harbour. The area is well serviced by public transport buses and is a friendly and family based suburb.

"Nice beautiful place"

Dover Heights is north of Bondi and just south of Vaucluse. It hugs the close line and contains one of the best parks in Sydney called Dudley Page Reserve. All it is is just a large park but has the best view in Sydney and the city's skyline. A lot of tourist buses stop there, probably to the annoyance of the residents who want the place to themselves. Since Dover is away from New South Head Road, it enjoys quieter streets than it’s neighbouring suburbs like Rose Bay or Double Bay, hence making it more comfortable for those who like it less congested.
