"Hidden Gem on the Bellarine Peninsula"

Having lived on the Bellarine Peninsula for 15 years, we settled in Drysdale 10 years ago and absolutely love it here. It is the only town on the Bellarine to have maintained a true country feel to it. It has a quieter, relaxed and more family friendly feel than the other peninsula towns, and doesn’t get over-run with tourists in Summer. The Main Street shops have a village feel to them with some fantastic cafes, along with a thriving new precinct on Murradoc Road. Major shops include Coles, Woolworths, Aldi, KFC, Bakers Delight, Tyrepower, along with a tonne of other shops - we rarely need to go outside the town as it pretty much has everything here. Two good secondary schools (public and private) and a number of primary schools.
With a couple of beautiful lakes - Lake Lorne has a wonderful walking track around it and is a beautiful spot for a picnic.
It’s central to a variety of different beaches - 5 minute drive will have you at Clifton Springs Beach, 10 -15 minutes to Portarlington, St Leonards, Indented Heads and Ocean Grove.
People here are welcoming and friendly. Property prices here seem to be undervalued in my opinion and it’s probably the last affordable town on the peninsula which is surprising given it’s the the best of both worlds as a sea change and tree change!
I’d steer clear of the big new subdivisions close by in Curlewis and Clifton Springs - they lack the country feel of Drysdale and are more suited to those who prefer a “melbourne suburbia” vibe.
Home of the Blues Train and the Q Train, check out the gorgeous little historical railway near the lake. With its close proximity to local beaches, Wineries and Geelong, its picturesque lakes and its village vibe, Drysdale really is the Hidden Gem of the Bellarine Peninsula.

Looking for a home in Drysdale?

"Hands down, best town"

We have lived in Drysdale for years and would never live anywhere else. We love the village feel with the High Street and no huge shopping centers, having said that it has everything you need. Supermarkets, all the major banks, Post Office, Library, Cafes and the pub are all within walking distance to each other. There is also plenty of sports and recreation for the whole family to rest and play. There are currently a few new developments in town which offer land to build brand new homes which is great for people moving to the area. I would personally steer away from the big developments on Jetty Road as that are will not experience the Drysdale feel. However there is a nice one in the heart of town where we bought to retire to. I would recomend Drysdale to anyone who asks and will sing its praises until the day I die! I hope this helps.

"Hidden gem"

Shifted here 3 months ago. Awesome neighbors and a very friendly place wherever you are. Has a lot more country feel and hospitality compared to geelong. Certainly a hidden secret on the bellarine. Would recommend to anyone from young couples and families to retirees. 5 stars from me and only 10 minutes away for a surf
