East Cannington, WA 6107

Lived in the area for nearly three decades . Area has had a lot of subdivision and developments in recent years .
Which has seen a large increase in the population , with no real improvement in the facilities for the larger population growth.
Area is a lot dirtier now, with larger traffic volumes, and a lot of neglected street verges and household gardens .
Aircraft traffic has increased dramatically in the area . So if you don’t like planes flying over your house frequently, avoid the area .
Railway crossings in the area are a nightmare, and create traffic jams as well. Yes there is plans to improve the crossovers .
Government charges household owners large fees to subdivide properties. But none of the profit has gone back to improving the community. Neighbouring suburbs are not charged high fees for subdivisions.
Crime rates are high close to train station and shopping centres. Several murders in the suburb in the last few years.
Had six break ins of my property and one car stolen whilst living here .
Suburb has lot its appeal . I would avoid it .

My neighbors are very friendly. Quite safe and I enjoy living here.
Near carousel for people love shopping and dining out. A lot of developments currently happen.

Close to public transport

The only issue is the aircraft noise but it should be fine for new homes with noise insulation.

Been living there for 2 decades. Never have issue with break in.

I lived for a few short months some years ago and in those months, my husband and I had people jumping over our fences (front and back), leaving their lovely 'gifts', toilet paper and all and we witnessed a large amount of graffiti in the immediate area. Being a long, straight street, hoons just loved having drag races of a Friday/Saturday night. Quite scary, considering we lived near a corner, where there was one of many crossroads!

I've heard things haven't changed much!

I have found East Cannington to be a great suburb, it is close to everything from shopping to public transport. There are plenty of parks for a young family and the community spirit is great. I would recommend it to anyone wanting the more relaxed life but still be close enough to the city to enjoy the benefits that can only be found in a large city.

This area is definately good for shopping and public transport but that is where it ends. We are moving out of East Cannington for the fact that it is an unfriendly neighbourhood and is now being overcrowded. In the past three years since we bought, too many 8-block units have been built, which are not well cared for and the look of the whole area is being downgraded. The few parks are pretty barren, local shops are covered in graffiti and since we are now unable to walk our dogs at the local "dog friendly" park, why would we consider starting a family here?

Drove passed the suburb recently and just fell in love to the area. It is close to the retail shopping centers, public transport and not far from city center. Peaceful and safe, friendly neighborhood and excellent environment. Many beautiful new houses are under construction and certainly one of the most suitable for living suburbs in Perth, house price is affordable and very reasonable too. Nothing to complain at all.

I've heard previously about bad review in this suburb. However, having living here for the last 5 months, I can say that this suburb is very safe, quiet and relaxing. I hardly hear or see any incidents in the area.

The security have surely been improved with almost all night security standing by on the Cannington Train St and police squad watching around the neighborhood every once in a while.

The street lighting are adequate and there are small shops around the area that opens til' late at night. Transport and Shopping centre are just a stroll away. Close to Roe Highway, Orrong Road, and Airports.

New houses are also popping here and there making this suburb developing quickly into a more modern suburb.

Highly recommended to live here, you won't regret it!
