Elizabeth North, SA 5113

I too was adverse to Elizabeth and then I moved here. I know most of my neighbours by name (I previously lived in Glenelg and knew just one neighbour in 6 years). I am walking distance to shops, trains and medical services.
You can see the beginnings of a re-gentrification of the area (just follow the developers). When the train is finished upgrading at the end of the year it will be so much easier to get into the city, but for the drivers we have the highway anyway.
Our street is lovely and quite often a few of us will stand outside in summer and fix the problems of the world and I keep my neighbours in fresh grown vegetables.
As for unemployment yep there's some but that's indicative of everywhere now and more a testament to poor government policy .
I know people out of this area have a preconceived and ill-informed idea of this area but we honestly don't know what these people are talking about or if they were just unlucky to find a nasty neighbourhood pocket.
Of all the many places I have lived in in my life I feel like I am finally home.

Elizabeth North is a cheap but also rough area. It has alot of problems as people are trying to survive on very little income. There is high unemployment and a sense of hopelessness and which is the main cause of the criminal activity in the area. People have nothing to do and no hope of a better life.
