Moved here from New Zealand in 2012. Lovely family neighbourhood. Close to the beautiful Swan Valley. Has grown so much in the 9 years we have been here. Great shopping here now. Choice of some fantastic restaurants. Would recommend as a safe , family orientated place to live.

I have lived in Ellenbrook for over 20 years now and have watched grow from a small suburb with a small corner shop deli and no petrol stations into the bustling city that it is today with so many facilities and it is still growing with so many more shops still to be built.
Ellenbrook is a great place to live in for families. There are plenty of good schools, childcare centres and lots of parks and playgrounds for kids. It is very safe and quiet. ... Ellenbrook is very close to the Swan Valley. THE Metro-East Joint Development Assessment Panel has approved an $85 million expansion to Ellenbrook Central Shopping Centre, which includes plans for a 10-screen cinema, tavern, restaurant and a discount department store. I have brought up 4 children in Ellenbrook and my three children had moved away with two of them returning and have now built their own home near by and now bringing their own children in Ellenbrook and the surrounding suburb. With so many schools and child friendly parks Ellenbrook is a nice place to live and bring up a family.

I moved from the UK to Ellenbrook 12 years ago. I have watched this suburb grow so much. We now are very self sufficient and have everything we need right here on our doorstep. Majority of schools are good its the kids in them that's the problem. As with any suburb there is crime but the suburb has a very good community and they all look out for each other and help each other. The suburbs just keeps growing which is great for employment too. House prices are affordable and there is something for everyone.

With the boom in population has come and expansion of the local shopping centre with a number of large major brands *did someone say Kmart?* coming to call Ellenbrook home.

There are housing options for everyone - ranging from NRAS units that lease for less than $200 per week, up to large family homes with 5 bedrooms plus perfect for large families which lease for $600-$650 per week.

Great Suburb if you like to be on the lookout for crime and break ins constantly , best install a CCTV camera system and subscribe to every facebook group you can that references crime in the area . But it could be alot worse, Annies Landing is crime ridden and in the middle of no where, no place to raise a family in my opinion as everyone seems to be on guard and living in fear from my observations of the area .

Lovely place to live. Lots of schools for children to attend. St Helenas and Holy cross as well as Swan Christian college all have good reputations with value for money. Could not recommend Swan valley Anglican as I was very dissapointed with it

Ellenbrook is a very clean and friendly place where people can talk without feeling like you are talking to strangers. It's a great place for raising kids of all ages, because there are plenty of large parks and plenty of school for kindy to yr 12. I'm a bit worried if the kids become teenagers and there is no train line

I built a house in Ellenbrook and lived there 4 yrs and quite enjoyed it! I have a small child so was quite involved in toy libraries, playgroups, play centres etc and found them all fantastic! the people are very friendly and its a place that is very easy to make friends.
It's very family orientated and has a crazy amount of parks for the kids.... we spent a few mths going to at least one new one a week and still didn't get to see them all!
The shopping side of things have improved greatly from when we first built there... it now has most of the big shops such as coles, woolies, big W etc and its only going to get bigger and better within the next few yrs.
Like any suburb though there are good and bad areas, and we lived in a very new area (coolamon) and had no trouble, but I have heard the older areas (such as near IGA) are quite bad with crime etc...
You just have to pick and choose where you live thats all!
The only thing it lacks I think is transport with the nearest train line being a good 30mins away!

Ellenbrook is a great place to live in for families. There are plenty of good schools, childcare centres and lots of parks and playgrounds for kids. It is very safe and quiet. The shopping centre has recently been extended and offers a lot. Also there is a pub, a lot of restaurants and takeaways. There is a bus network that provides transport towards the CBD. Properties are still fairly cheap compared to other suburbs. Ellenbrook is very close to the Swan Valley.

We rented in Ellenbrook for two years & never had any issues there was a homeswest house about 6 houses down from us which caused abit of a commotion but they never destroyed anything or bothered surrounding residents they actually proved to be quite amusing at times (watching from between the blinds).

We are currently living by the beach but are in the process of buying our first home in Ellenbrook due to its affordability & mass growth over the past 5 years, it will only get bigger.
The council takes great care in making ellenbrook as clean and well maintained as possible, apart from the fact that woolworths has a monopoly on the place and there is only one fuel station that 15.000 people have to share i love ellenbrook and can't wait to have our own home there.

I have lived in the Ellenbrook area since 1999 and love it. Great area for new families and great facilities for the young kids. .......

Apparently tipped to be the next Joondalup. 2nd phase of retail infrastructure finally under way, with Coles, Kmart, etc...planned. Well served by good schools. Beautiful manicured parks. Individual low-rise homes still well-priced, but will not stay this low as the town grows. Get in quick! Ellenbrook will one day have its own rail line but at present this has been shelved due to costs. A young community exists with plenty of clubs & associations - something for everyone. And the best thing - right on the doorstep of the lovely Swan Valley.

About 21 kms northeast of Perth you will find the outer suburb of Ellenbrook. Although still classed as a suburb this outlying spot has been purposely designed to be a self supporting community which appeals to many residents. The population of the area is around the 20,000 mark and growing. Transport is by road and bus service with a rail line planned to commence construction in 2012. There are some natural woodlands and wetlands around the area with great spots for picnics and walks. There are five primary schools, state, catholic and private and two high schools a state and a private. With more schools either under construction or about to begin construction. Sports wise there are plenty of clubs and associations to join. There are playing fields for most sports, cricket nets, skate park and BMX track, tennis and netball courts and a private swim school. There is also a large public water park. There is good medical centres and nearby hospital as well as allied health professionals. Property prices are still very affordable here but with great infrastructure these prices will rise in the future.
