Reviews of Elliott Heads, QLD

"Peaceful, oceanside living"

There's a reason most of the people in Elliott Heads are retired. There's not much to do here except walk along the esplanade with it's stunning views of the ocean, or swim in the calm waters of the river mouth or on the patrolled beach. There is a corner store and a fish and chip kiosk that's open 7am to 7pm every day. Apart from that, the only food/entertainment is the local Bowl's Club which is open Thurs-Sunday for meals and the occasional trivia night. Nothing else here except houses.
Elliott Heads is a strip of houses about three streets deep, hugging the coastline. The northern end (across the paddock from Coral Cove) has newer housing, more expensive houses and is generally more upmarket. The river end of Elliott Heads has a caravan park, occasionally suffers from midgies during summer, and there are some low-rent sections down that end.
The other thing to realise is that sometimes houses in the suburb of Riverview (which has more of a midgie problem) are advertised as Elliott Heads. They're not. Don't be sucked in. Check it on the map.
If you're looking for a super-peaceful lifestyle where the rush hour is 3 cars driving past, Elliott Heads is the place for you. But there's nothing trendy or hipster. It's clean and quiet with a very low crime rate and the primary school is fabulous. A twenty minute drive to Bundaberg through gorgeous canefields and farmland so it's a great place to get-away for a sea change lifestyle for singles and couples, or even those with young children. Teenagers, however, would be bored deathless and there's no public transport to get them anywhere interesting.

Looking for a home in Elliott Heads?

"Quiet sleepy little hamlet"

The peace and tranquility of Elliott Heads is a welcome respite after a busy day/night at work in town. Roughly 20-25 minute easy drive to town, or 15 minutes to Kepnock shops, Elliott Heads also boasts it's own two glorious corner shops that stock almost everything you can think of but not enough to do a full shop to stock the pantry. Friendly neighbours, beautiful views .... but DON'T confuse it with Riverview!

Great for

  • Its far away enough to be peaceful

Not great for

  • No local shopping centre
  • Lousy transport. 3 buses a day into town only.

"Springfield - Simply the Best Suburb"

Me and my wife have just bought our first house here at Springfield just 3 months back and we think that we had taken the good decision. It offers everything that we were looking for - good neighbours, good connectivity to city, good people, Secure and good shopping options at Orion Centre. Initially I was a bit hesitant to buy the house here as I am working in the city and was worried about commuting. But, the connectivity is the best through the centinary motorway. Also, we are happy that the train connectivity will be there by the year 2013. There are good schools and colleges here which I think is the best for children. There is also development going on to nearby the Orion Shopping Centre. We would give 8.5 out of 10 to Springfield.

Great for

  • Good Restaurants
  • Best for Families, kids and couple
  • New Developments going on - Growing very fast

Not great for

  • No Cinema

"Quality homes with more land at good value"

Forget the City... This place is full of caring and friendly faces. Within 24 hours of moving into our property, both neighbours knocked our door to introduce themselves and offered immediate assistance. We had played with the idea of moving here two years ago as my husband works in Carole Park and only wished we had made the move earlier. The roads are fantastic, not constant traffic lights and the air seems clear, compared to City Living. Forget the Hustle and Bustle and start enjoying a calmer lifestyle here in Springfield where you get better value for your money as the home and gardens are large compared to most suburbs.

Rentals in Elliott Heads

"good place to raise kids"

Horrible cheaply built rentals of modern design that all look the same. Terrible internet prospects, awful windy roads and steep driveways. Awful grass in most houses. Ants everywhere. Plenty of parks. 2 gyms within driving distance. Neighbours dont really talk to anyone. Overall its a good safe place to raise children, but dont expect any marvels of modern architecture.

"Elliott Heads - Great place to get in quick."

Elliott heads is situated only 15 mins from Bundaberg and has both surf and calm swimming waters at the rivers mouth. Elliott Heads is the perfect destination for the whole family is many water sports on offer including; boardsailing and jet skiing as well as the ever popular, fishing. Explore the nearby areas of Avondale and Bargara and see the turtle hatchery at Mons Repos Conservation Park. There are also the Mystery craters to see between Bundaberg and Gin Gin. There are excellent camping and caravan facilities for your accommodation needs. Elliott heads has up until now been largely undiscovered but with more people becoming aware of all this area has to offer, land and house prices are set to rise dramatically.
