Moved in recently and loving being here.

It is very amazing

A very safe area, school students walk by themselves til fairly late.
Epping is also central to many work hubs - Norwest, Parra, Macq Park, Lower Nth Shore, express trains to Coast/Newcastle, the 288 bus is a lifesaver when there's trackwork. Drive to the city quickly in tunnel ($$$)

Lacking nightlife and restaurants, but many pizza shops til about 11pm, good cafes and pub, close to Macquarie megacentre

No issues, though very occasional weirdo will film bus drivers and take photos of buses?

We recently moved to Epping and couldn’t be happier with the area. It is so convenient and yet so leafy with spacious houses and greenery.

Everyone is really personable and friendly.

I would highly recommend Epping to families with primary to highschool aged kids.

A leafy suburb with a selection of great schools and well connected via metro, trains & buses. CBD, Chatswood & Parramatta are all within a 30-35 minute commute and despite being so strategically located, I find Epping to have a great community vibe.

I have lived there for a few years and enjoyed every moment of it. I much prefer Epping over lower/upper North Shore where the cost & lack of convenience far outweighs any benefits.

Traffic can get bad, but good place to live. Quite central

At the intersection of North and North West Sydney Epping is centrally located for commutes to any part of Sydney. Fantastic city train services via Strathfield or Chatswood, yet easy reach out to Parramatta or Castle Hill. A myriad of motorways close by to connect you to the airport or regional areas such as Newcastle or Canberra. The best schools in Sydney are all within 15 minutes of Epping: selective, non government and single sex high schools. A leafy community with families out exercising or walking pets, Epping has a safe feeling and people of many nationalities combine to respect and care for each other. Easy access to good hospitals, universities and restaurants is a bonus for families.

Epping is a well connected, upper middle class suburb on the north shore of Sydney. Lots of greenery, with only a hort stroll to the national park and dog park. The area is quiet and incredibly safe. Recent investment in commercial businesses on Oxford street means there is a small and new, but thriving cafe culture.

The better side of Epping is definitely north of the train station, heading toward the suburb of North Epping. This is arguably the more refined and picturesque side of Epping.

The only downside is the poor road planning and congestion near Coles and on the south side of the station. This will continue to get worse as the new high rise buildings begin releasing apartments for rent.

The demographic of the area are young professionals and families. Epping will only continue to go up in value and is a great place to invest and settle.

Unmanned flying objects have been known to orbit the regions around South East and East Epping (not otherwise known as choppers). Arcane green figures with multiple eyes bulging out like almonds have been observed to emerge from these objects. Watch out before it colonises all your greenhouse gases (please store all chemicals conveniently in greenhouses). Jokes aside with Marsfield, Epping fares geographically very well. To the north, is the bustling likes of Hornsby; to the east, Chatswood; to the south, Strathfield; and to the west, a thriving residential community with no geographical, commercial or industrial hotspots, equivalently in the minds of some investors, nothing. So that would imply Epping is the most west of the west? Very illogical.
Epping is very well equipped by train services, schools, shopping options and restaurants. It has an abundance of amenities present additionally within the neighbouring suburbs, and has a varied population demographic. Unlike some suburbs of the inner city, aeroplane noise is scarcely an issue, unless you count the high youth population knowing and neowing away with their paper creations (that's not necessarily a bad thing). A must live place for train fanatics alike, parents of train fanatics, academically striving pupils, young individuals hoping to make a mark in the fabric of labour and professionals. Green space, as with any North Shore suburb, is not lacking (definitely not induced by any entities of the UFOs).

German supermarket chain Kaufland is on its way to the northern suburbs, with the company set to open first stores in Epping.
Kaufland Australia would invest $459 million to build and open stores at Epping.
Fascinating news for fast growth city like Epping. Next will be Riverlee $2 billion project and what next? I can't imagine. Woohoooooo

You will be spoiled with transportation choice, excellent schools and good selection of shops for your day to day needs. Epping club is excellent and some good take away places as well. In all Epping is an all rounder.

I have been lived in Carlingford, Parramatta, Eastwood. I feel Epping is best place to live. Love it!

It is truly suburbia in Epping, but with a short 10min stroll I can be from my house to the train, bus or taxis. I like the fact there are not many pubs, clubs and nightlife. Also it's great that there is not a huge mall here. Having nightlight and malls attracts transient people who cause issues. The great thing is I can be on a train to the mall, clubs, nightlife in 10mins. You are at the centre of Norwest, Castlehill, Chatswood, Parramatta with great motorways close by. My neighbours are fantastic. A large number of federation homes being preserved giving it a boutique feel. Trees are abound. Lots of parks and play areas for my kid. I love Epping! And there is more good stuff planned for this little town.

Very Green, and safe & quiet suburb. Centrally located now to access city and other parts of sydney. Cannot complain as long as you can afford to live.

While Epping is conveniently situated in northern Sydney, with a terrific transport system, there are several pitfalls that haven't been highlighted.
- Such a busy train station does not even have adequate parking
- The roads near the town centre are extremely congested, especially during peak hours.

If you're looking for a modern life, Epping is NOT the place for you! Beware that a large portion of the suburb is listed under heritage preservation schemes. It will be extremely difficult to build a brand new contemporary home if that's what you're after. It's largely a museum full of "nice cosy little cottages, with lovely gardens, and birds humming Christmas carols".
Take a drive and you will notice that most of the newer homes are just as dull and anachronistic as the older homes. I'm surprised they didn't preserve the dunny at the back.

Epping is a peaceful suburb with beautiful natural environment, fantastic schools, friendly neighbors and great public transport.

For study, there are a lot of prestigious schools nearby, including Epping Boys High, Cheltenham Girls High, James Ruse High (the No1 High School in NSW, only 5-10 min drive from Epping) and Macquarie University (5 min drive or 1 train stop from Epping).

For shopping, there are many nice small shops and Coles in Epping. If you like Asian food and Asian grocery, it only takes you 5 min drive to Eastwood (1 train stop from Epping). If you prefer shopping in big shopping mall, it just takes you 5 min drive either to Macquarie Shopping Centre or Carlingford Court and Carlingford village.

For working, there are so many big companies such as Microsoft, Oracle, Johnson & Johnson, Sony, etc. located in Macquarie Park and North Ryde which only takes you 15-20 min drive from Epping or 2-3 train stops.

With the opening of Epping-Chatswood train line, it's very convenient to go to Chatswood which is the biggest and flourishing town in northern area. It's only 4 train stops from Epping, less than 20 min by train.

Epping is a great place to live in.

Epping is a middle income earning suburb about 30 to 35 minutes north west of the CBD.

If you prefer a place with fantastic access to public transport, Epping is the place for you. Being the intersection for the Northern and Chatswood lines, Epping is a main stop for trains on both lines. With frequent and numerous buses it is the pinacle of convenience.

With many high quality pizzerias, fabulous thai, chinese and other small family restaurants, Epping is a great place just to hang out for dinner or relaxing over a coffee. It also offers a Hotel with a busy bar and a RSL club for those who prefer to cool down with a beer. All in all, the nightlife in Epping is a great alternative if you don't want to fight it out in the city.

Epping also offers great primary schools and is in the catchment area for the high achieving Epping Boys' High School. It is also close to Macquarie Univeristy.

In terms of capital growth, Epping has definitely done well in the last 10 years with growth of between 30 to 40%. Houses in Epping is going to be out of the reach of many first home buyers, but the suburb has the potential to keep growing with the new train line in place and constant demand for rental housing from university students.

Epping is a excellent place to live,you can get as quiet as you hope for,but very handy for transport to almost everywhere

Epping is a great suburb. It is agood place for families. It is central to many places. With the new trainline its very convinient. at the same time is very leafy suburb.

Epping is like a trendy spot on the northwestern train line. It has a good train station and everybody knows the all-famous Epping RSL. Somehow it is rather strange calling it an RSL since it is more like a trendy club rather than a place for diggers or for a cheap drink.

Most likely reflecting the migration to the area, there seem to be a few more Indian restaurants popping up. Whether this means more Indians in the area or the area developing a taste for Indian is up to you to decide, but there seem to be a lot of Indian restaurants there. Apart from that, it is still a suburb that can access the city and also the North Shore with the new train line so this makes it quite a good middle-income area.

Epping is more of less the "hub" of the Northern suburbs, this is partly due to Epping station being one of the busiest on the Northern line. This has its pro's such as great transport links to the CBD, via the inner west (Strathfield) and now Macquarie park technology corridor (via Chatswood). An express train to central station takes about 20 minutes (express trains comes from the Central coast and stop in only Epping, Strathfield and then Central). There are also countless bus services, it is really a hub for commuters.

The downside to this is the traffic congestion and construction of apartments making the area about a 300m radius from the station seem perpetually busy. This was not the case 10 years ago. However, with this came the great influx of restaurants (Epping is the best place for Indian food in the region with 4 Indian restaurants on Beecroft rd alone), the revitalisation of Epping train station and refurbishment of the Epping club (formerly known as tracks). Thankfully, the new apartment developments in Epping are focusing on the "luxury" market (Genesis and Woodlands).

The area has a VERY different feeling just outside this 300m radius from the station. This part of Epping is known for its wide, treelined streets, large plots of land and peaceful surrounds. House prices here have shot up in the last 10 years making this area increasingly unaffordable. Here the setting is low density with nearly all the homes being bungalows (with the odd duplex or villa development).

Epping is a suburb of great contrast. Congested, busy and lively near the train station. Spacious, green and peaceful just away from it. Overall it is a very classy, yet convienient place to live.

Epping, in Sydney’s north-west has seen a huge transformation over the past 10 years, with a large number of medium to high density housing options created. The reason for this is that it is on a vital train line linking Sydney with Hornsby, and beyond to the Central Coast and North Coast of NSW.

Epping’s proximity to Macquarie University has made the area popular with overseas students as a more affordable accommodation option to on-campus rooms. A new railway link has opened in 2009 with trains travelling between Epping and Chatswood, connecting the suburb with the Macquarie University, Macquarie Park, and North Ryde areas which offer a large number of employment options.

Epping has a hotel, community club, service stations, library, and is home to several big companies, most notably Unilever.
