"FAMILY SUBURB- amazing place to live"

I moved to this suburb a year ago and rent an apartment. you could go to city by tram or by train; because of these multiple option you never have to take your car. this is extremely well developed suburb with best schools, cafes, childcares etc. You don't have to go out of the suburb for anything.
DFO and airport west mall gives you all the latest trends that I never shop from city.
you can't afford to buy a home here as it is above 1.2 million, but good to rent this place.

"Great place for anyone."

From young singles to families, Essendon North has it all. Love everything. Only problem can be traffic and if you don't like aircraft noise from nearby Essendon Airport. No trouble from big jets from Tullamarine airport however.

"Probably more convenient than Essendon itself!"

The smallest suburb in Moonee Valley, Essendon North is one of a group of suburbs sharing the 3041 postcode including Strathmore, Strathmore Heights and Essendon Fields / Essendon Airport. Most of the original homes in Essendon North range from Californian Bungalows built in the 1920s and 1930s through to post-war homes of the 1940s and early 1950s. The construction of the Tullamarine Freeway in the late 1960s saw a dramatic change to the suburb with many streets losing their northern ends to make way for the new roadway. Although a number of fine homes were lost and streetscapes permanently altered, as a result Essendon North today has a lot of ‘no-through’ roads resulting in very little traffic coming through its streets – a huge bonus for locals. Being so small, it has few amenities of its own with the exception of the renowned primary school. It is however close to a host of nearby attractions including Keilor Road tram, Essendon North Shopping Village (which is in Essendon), Niddrie shops/cafés, Tullamarine Freeway / Citylink, DFO, Essendon Fields and Westfield Shopping Centre.
