Reviews of Forest Rd, Lugarno
Hi omargo! Im looking at a property in lugarno and doing a bit of research to the effect of these powerlines. I came across your post and wondered if you had any advice about the powerlines. The house i am looking at is quite close to a powerline and although alot of the research i have done shows that there is very little or no effect on health id still like to try and be 110% sure. As i local, do you know of any problems related to these lines or do you have any advice? Cheers!
I have the same concern with these powerlines. Any feedback on these and any known health concerns in the area?
The power lines pose no threat to anyone in the area. As the suburb is a peninsula with the river to the south, east and west 99% of homes are nowhere near the power lines that run across the northern section of the suburb. Lugarno is no different to it's neighbouring suburbs like Illawong, Peakhurst, Peakhurst Heights and Mortdale in regards to the power lines and the locals of all these areas seem to stick around for a long time. The only potential issue is an easement over your land restricting anything to be built under (excluding pools and various things) that will only effect those living underneath them.
Thepower lines merely cut across the suburb at one point and so, with Lugarno being a peninsula suburb with the Georges River around three sides, the vast majority of houses are nowhere near the power lines. What the suburb has native trees in abundance and even a remnant rainforest in Evatt Park. The walk through this is relatively easy and comes out on an amazing view west up the Georges River. Living in Lugarno means peace and safety.
