"Getting a bit too big for the infastructure"

Main street of Gawler can be slow, you're better off going the back streets if you want to get through town quicker. There is a parking complex near the Woolworths.
People are friendly if you've been in the area for an extended amount of time. Ample pubs and eateries for socializing, very busy part of the world.

"This town is not all it's cracked up to be"

Been here 10 years. Worst drivers ever, assholes who tailgate, drive over roundabouts and abuse other people. They'll dent your car while you're in the shops and do a runner. Loud, stinking vehicles, huge 4wds everywhere, all fighting each other. Shopping is the same at Cole's it Woolworths, these folks will hip n shoulder an elderly person or crash tackle a child if it means they'll get what they want. Manners? Non existent. Concern for others? Never. I cannot wait to move from this place.

"Value for money township with growth future"

The township offers good shopping and parklands. The parking facilities and road layout need a full review and will hinder the townships growth. People overall are friendly and the town is located well between the Barossa and Munno Para. Values appear to be lifting on homes as people have noticed the value for money. Gawler central is quiet and enjoys a better central locality to the town centre and flat walking surfaces to most areas.

New shopping facilities have lifted the towns image, there is a good selection of historic and well known eateries and drinking spots. With the new Delfin development starting the area will bloom and new access roads with increase the population and ease of movement.

Schools and recreation are quite adequate and the township is attracting many new members including people from overseas wishing to escape the rat race of the cities and those from inter state moving for a better lifestyle and mining related jobs.

If you are moving to SA note that most job roles are based around manufacturing and government services.

"A great spot for family - with a huge range of facilities"

The huge suburb of Gawler has undergone a very rapid expansion over the past 10 years and is now a major suburban centre. The population has grown rapidly, just tipping over the 20,000 mark.

Gawler is situated just 45 minutes north of Adelaide and 25 minutes south of the Barossa Valley. It is an easy commute either way - whether to work in the wine region or in the Adelaide CBD. There are buses to the Barossa and trainlines to Adelaide.

Gawler has a lot to offer, with a number of major businesses operating here, large supermarket complexes and substantial essential services including a large hospital.

There are many facilities for families too, including the huge Starplex sports complex at Trinity College, a cinema complex and many sporting and recreational facilities. There are a number of primary schools in the area, as well as Trinity College (a private co-educational school), Gawler High School and many others.

The heart of the town can be difficult to drive through, with traffic jams along the main street common. However significant works have taken place to improve flow around the area.

I don't work in the area but have been into Gawler every so often over the years and it's ok.Shame It's on the wrong side of town in relation to me these days(I don't even think the people who run the Marden Pizza Hut have been so foolish to send me up to their Gawler Store for any shifts).
