Reviews of Georges Hall, NSW

"Great Location but to many crazy drivers."

I had lived here on an off for 30 Years, and was surrounded by many great neighbours. Whilst the other reviews seem good for an overall feel, I would like to mention a couple that to me were not family friendly. There are a number of young professionals with families and their exotic cars. It seems normal for them to rev their cars in small streets normally populated by children playing. You only need to see how many speed humps have been constructed on your way to Bass Hill Plaza to curb this behaviour. Still they speed in between. I always loved to walk at the Lake, however many residents have an affinity to aggressive dogs. Too many scary instances where the owners had trouble controlling them. My current suburb has many nice cars, no speed humps and I can pat any of the pooches on my walks.

"Family First with amazing atmosphere"

I have lived in this suburb for all 21 years of my life, my mother has done the same for all 42 of hers and grandmother has been there for nearly 50 years now. This suburb is extremely under rated! With a great variety of local schools, an abundance of local parks with the addition of the amazing park lands down by the Georges River, up at the crest and the Landsdowne park, a number of retirement villages and a good variety of shops AND being right next door to Bass Hill plaza, you will not be disappointed with the lifestyle. Friendly environment thats hard to find anywhere else this suburb is worth the money. In the Canturbury Bankstown Local Area this is the Premier Suburb!!

"Great suburb....one of the best in Western Sydney"

Lived here for over 7 years and although initially had to push the budget to purchase here am more than glad that I did..An abundance of parks, reserves and walking options throughout the suburb, quiet and peaceful. Great for families.

"Georges Hall,- where people still say good morning when they pass you in the street."

Always considered the gem of Bankstown's suburbs, Georges Hall is nestled between Bankstown Airport and the sprawling Lake Gillawarna reserve on Henry Lawson Drive. Serviced by an abundance of schools, primary and secondary options, there are child care centrers springing up everywhere. The local shopping centre is great, and the access to Bankstown, Liverpool and the M5 is fabulous either by car or a well serviced network of Buses. Georges Hall is a quiet suburb ideal for families. The kilometers of parkland run along the Georges River and host many festivals and events during the year. Henry Lawson Drive can be a slow go for traffic going AROUND Georges Hall, but locals know the quick ways in and out. Local restaurants are great and at least one offers live music regularly. Many locals are within walking distance of 4 schools, a post office, Dr, Dentist, video store, take away stores and a bottleshop. Not to mention the Squash Courts, tennis courst and golf course, local churches and easy boat ramp access to the river. If you live in Bankstown and want to "move up", Georges Hall is where you head. Bass Hill Plaza is about 2 minutes by car from anywhere in Georges Hall, so shopping is a breeze.

Great for

  • Quiet suburb
  • Great public transport [buses]
  • Easy access to Parramatta, Liverpool, Bankstown and the M5.
